That's a really good question, I know that masochism can be without any cause, but I think that it's possible it can be stemming from someone's trauma or something like that. But I'd say in my opinion there could be ways that people would be able to be into masochism without their past trauma, or the way they grew up affecting that fetish.
I don't know about you guys but too much sex is getting tiring I want some good communication, some good drama and somehow a good and healthy relationship. I know my reply is pretty late but i don't think he is still hung up to his uncle, he never actually loved the uncle, he just liked him as a family, that's why he cried when he remembered how they used to be before his mother died. And he kept the tattoo because it was the first choice he chose out of free well.
