I don’t think you understand why I’m asking this question. From the sound of it, you’re saying this based off the common folk’s common sense of morality and I’m trying to understand which part of Yoshino makes you believe that she herself doesn’t feel like she belongs or want to be there?

“That’s not an environment to be raised in?” I don’t understand that statement. She’s already grown up; at 18 years old, she’s nearly an adult. That’s the life she knows and she seems content with it. Not once has she voiced wanting to cut ties with her family because she felt all the “toxicity” and “abuse” you’re appalled by.

I’m wondering if this idea came to you because she’s not as bloodthirsty as her male counterparts? Like it or not, it’s unlikely that she would be able to be happy in/ be herself in/ adapt to the normal life you seem to be envisioning for her. I like to re-binge this series after every few updates, so my understanding of Yoshino’s characters just makes me look at your comment as odd.


Anyway, my last question to you is, does the fact that she and Tsubaki for example, have no complaints or negative feelings concerning their lifestyle and families not matter at all? And is that because you’re so caught up on what’s morally good vs morally bad? Or is there some other reason I’m missing?

What’s confusing about what I said…?? Let me say this in much simpler terms and within context:

I came here to read a story about the equivalent of a a yakuza princess being engaged to a dangerous yakuza boy. Yet you’re saying she should leave all that behind and it just doesn’t compute. If you said that because she was a little girl, I’d get it. If you said that because this was the story of a normal girl being engaged to a yakuza, I’d understand. If you said that because she’s shown that she hates the life she has and wants nothing more to do with it, I’d agree with you. However that’s not the case.

To me, you’re letting your sense of morality dictate what you believe she should or should not do with her life. Per your reasoning, she should just cut everyone she cares about out of her life regardless of how she personally feels or who she actually is as a person. So it’s all a bit iffy to me, especially because it’s pretty obvious to me that Yoshino doesn’t actually care about the “toxicity” and “abuse” that you mentioned in in the way normal/regular people do.

Anyway, that’s all I gotta say on the subject. If that still doesn’t click for you, talking about it won’t lead anywhere.
