I hate that people from Estell's past (and even Estell herself) keep blaming her for being ignorant but they were the ones that were hiding things and lying too her. Like she was born a commoner and didn't receive a good education so ofc she wouldn't know much about high society and politics on her own, and the people who knew she was in the wrong never told her, so ofc she thought she was right.
like Khalid how can you be mad at Estell bc she didn't know how bad the king was when you were probably one of the only people that would have been close enough to her to educate her on the politics of your country and your personal experiences with the king?
And yeah maybe Estell should have noticed something was up, but that's hard to do when her close friend group who she trusted more that anything in the world are the ones keeping her in the dark and telling her she's right.
