Dang the ending is completely different from the novel. I was expecting it to be similar to the source material because it’s been following it intently (minus cutting out some parts), but it completely changed after entering the war arc. Here are some of the differences:
- Zachary’s brother has groups surrounding Zachary and assumes that he will die, so he goes back to report it to the trash prince
- Trash prince attacks Arno
- Zachary hears more intel about the situation (how Jacob wanted Bianca because she’s a saint, Bianca’s assault)
- Zachary takes the main troops back to Arno and leaves the rest to fight
- Trash prince finds out that Zachary isn’t dead and KILLS Zachary’s brother out of anger
- Trash prince attempts to flee but is caught by Sovur (my hubby <33333)
- Trash prince is sentenced to death in Arno and starts having delusions about escaping punishment because of his bloodline
- People of Arno start throwing rocks at him
- Zachary reads a letter from Princess Audrey that states Trash Prince is deprived of his status because of his crimes
- Trash Prince pleas with Bianca and continues to yell words of love, but is rejected
- Trash Prince is executed with an axe by the hands of Sovur
- Princess Audrey becomes Crown Princess and begins studying
- Princess Audrey also adopts Prince Albert (the nephew) so he can become future heir to the throne and so she can protect him
- I don’t remember ANYTHING about a man being in Princess Audrey’s life soo that part suprised me too
The novel ending was more satisfying for the execution of Trash Prince, but the ending of the manhua felt more romantic. I prefer the novel ending, but I enjoyed reading the manhua too ngl. They’re both good reads.

YVONNE AND GASPAR ARE SO CUTE ASDFGHJKL my favorite side couple to exist. literally fell in love with Sovur, himbos are just GRAHHHH muah. Marceau Davoville is literally a simp for his wife and I STAN, they make such an adorable pairing like he’s a snake who adores her and she’s a shy, bunny like character who has full confidence in him and it’s SO CUTEE they’re so supportive of each other. and don’t get me STARTED on our main couple?? like literally the only reason I was able to actually stick to this and not give up by the 40 chapter mark was because of them. a true power couple.
