She's physically weak and mentally strong. it takes a lot of courage to let go of someone you trusted and has given you a safe place(Not really a safe place) but a place better than her previous. And in her position, she's powerless. Her step-brother is a psychopath and traumatized her, her elder brother betrayed her, and her husband betrayed her. No one in that household likes her, and she rarely goes outside as well. She's been isolated and neglected. I'm proud of her for realizing that nothing's gonna change if she doesn't do it herself. I like this story, and I'd say the only thing i'm confused on is whether she remembers if she's in a novel story or not, or maybe she knows but is too immersed into the world.

Regarding the novel part, we have to remember that she didn't come into this world remembering that fact. She only remembered that after her mother had already passed away, and after she had lived as Ciella for many years. Even after she remembered, nothing really changed, and this was the life she lived. To her, this is reality, and not just a world inside a novel.
We also saw earlier that the derails she remembered from the novels were getting hazy, and how she has seen many things that were never mentioned in the novel --> even more of a gap between "world of a novel" and "reality".

I can understand why a lot of characters would rationalise them being in a world of a novel (= not real) as a way of rationalizing their fate/as a defense mechanism for potential bad thoughts/feelings to think it isn't real, but personally I'd consider those novels as just glimpses into another world, not that that world was fictional (especially if I was living in it). Her treating this as her real life and forgetting mostly about the novel makes sense, since it is her life. She decided to leave her past behind, and that includes characters that are part of the novel.


We also don't know if she remembered her whole past life or only the contents of the novel. It seems like it would be the latter imo, which would also explain the way she is.

If by problematic you meant "protagonist has many problems", I'd recommend you not use that word moving forward to mean that. While your use is technically not incorrect, the word "problematic" has a very specific connotation in modern English slang everywhere (at least online). This is not to bring hate to you, but to help you understand why people took issue with you using that word to describe this story, as I assume you may not be a native English speaker and thus not as familiar with slang. (If my assumptions are wrong, I do apologise, but my main point is to share knowledge that, to me, seems like you don't have.)

Googling "problematic definition slang" gives us this definition:
"having or showing attitudes (such as racial prejudice) or ideas (such as falsehoods) that are offensive, disturbing, or harmful."

When people call stories problematic, they refer especially to the last part of the definition, although all of it does apply. Ie. a story that normalises grooming (if you don't know what this means, google it) or shows grooming-like settings could be called problematic (I use this as an example bc I've seen these types of settings both in straight romance as well as BL.)

So no, the other person doesn't lack reading comprehension with your comment, they were right to assume the slang definition of that word as that is the most common way it is used online, especially when it comes to calling anything "problematic". You also simply seemed to be unaware of this definition, and that is okay. You know now, and I'd advise you to not use the word again like you used here, at least in the context of calling anything problematic, whether that be a story or a character.

Reiterating that I'm not hating on anyone, just trying to clear stuff up as it seems there was a misunderstanding on definitions from my point of view.
