Born As the Daughter of the Wicked Woman
It's the same old cliche all over again, just that she is the daughter of the villainess now. I kept rolling my eyes every two to three chapters. Wasn't really impressed by the spoilers I read.
There is something called 'deus ex machina' in fiction. I think this story is a nice example of that. Her hair turned a pure shade of white overnight from the stress? And the butterflies just happened to take all the color from her hair...wtf did I read LOL.
The art was pretty standard and neat, as expected from a villainess webtoon.
Only character that I kind of appreciate is the FLs mother. However, this story could have been so much better and less of a disappointment without the 'loving brother, loving family who takes in abused child' and gone for a more darker route.
Atleast the FL does things by herself and takes some initiative instead of being a total wimp.
How to Get My Husband on My Side
Art is neat; the typical villainess webtoon style. I get what this MC is trying to do by portraying herself as an airhead, but I am tired of her fainting all the time and the author writing the plot in a way that makes her appear weak. I get that she was abused in the past, but I want to see her grow and gain strength. 20 chapters in, that is not happening at all. The characters aren't all that memorable either. Only one I like is the ML's sister.
Please stop tagging this as "strong female lead". Until she has character development and does something other than be a door mat to all the characters, don't oversaturate this tag with webtoons like this. Save it for the webtoons or manga for which that tag really applies, like "Her Shimcheong", "Villainess Reverses Time" or "Akatsuki no Yona".
What's with webtoons having asshole MLs these days?
