i actually went into the manhwa thinking it was normal, but when i read it all to find out it wasn't yk that, ive just been reading to see how it genuinely ends. i want to see if Mingwa as an author does change jaekyung's character or if he stays the same. I think rape in the yaoi/bl community is unfortunately normalized and as much as I dislike reading it, i think its something that needs to be "de-normalized" or have some light shed onto it.

Yeah, the problem is more that abuse Stories are often labeled and falsely advertised as BL, when they’re more Boys-Absuse.
I think it’s a disturbing observation in the community. Especially given the fact, that most are pro-liberal values and respect the ideas of consent and so on but will form arguments to justify rape, even when it’s in fiction, such justifications will be carried into the “real world.”
I literally started this story without knowing what I’m getting my self into and it can take some time to process and see the full picture, involving the level of abuse and differentiate between spicy fight and serious events of abuse, it can take a lot of time in manga.
The only reason I’m still here and reading is to Analyse, how someone would „fix“ a person like this, what people view as justifiably and excusable because ur hot and rich and to see the ML suffer, which wouldn’t even fix or change the shit he has done and caused and because I actually like all the characters presented here. I just don’t like the ML.

You guys realize that you can find a piece of art bad, and be skeptical while consuming it.
That’s the whole point of Movie skeptics or manga skeptics, imagine telling them to just not watch the stuff as soon as they bring up valid criticism. The point is not that people want to change the original artwork but instead try to criticize existing pieces, so that artists but also others can grow and learn. Also, I just think that the comments here are just expressions of frustration, nothing too deep, I still get it tho.
People are obviously shocked about this story and will keep on having conversations about it the same way people complain about misogyny, racism, homophobia or transphobia, romanticizing violence and so on in stories, if not written well.
It doesn’t even matter if people read it. They can still complain about it. Women often complain about the way violence ist glorified in porn which is produced for men, and most women don’t even watch porn “for men”, they can still recognize and call out the problem.
Saying that calling out problematic narratives are childish is just beyond intellectual dishonesty, disrespect and ignorance.
The point is not to stop the author in the middle of their work, it’s to point out that certain communities or even society ist tired of certain tropes.

I actually like the sides now. I think it's not talked about enough that there's many ways to handle a person. Usually we'll see a fight happen but this uke knows how to manipulate his seme. They don't fight because the uke actually loves this behavior. It works for them and it wasn't conveyed very well in the main story but this most recent chapter really showed another perspective and I appreciate it.
