I usually really really like this mangaka... but not this one. The whole premise is ridiculous. I would usually LOVE the unexpected twist that the villain/obstacle character becomes the main, but not in this story. The whole thing - and especially the relationship - is way too far-fetched. The motivations of both brothers are unrealistic and inadequate, and Ryuu actually ending up with either of them (but probably Shinya in particular) after all that is just stupid.

It's a shame, because I really like this mangaka, and I like the first story. (I love delinquents!!) But the others felt rushed and/or had characters I didn't like, and the last story left a really disappointing taste.
Leaving aside the crappy yaoi cliche of somehow falling in love with the stupid dickhole who blackmails you and forces you into a sexual relationship against your will, I really can't like student-teacher stories, where they get together in any way before the kid graduates. Forget not laying hands on (presumed) straight guys, ALL teachers should make it their goddamned principle not to lay their hands on their students. It's just not okay. Stories where the teacher rejects the student but they meet again later and get together are lovely, but not while the kid is a student. Nope nope nope, not sweet, not romantic, not sexy.
(There is a major exception to my distaste for this, and it's Rinka and Sensei from Leopard Hakusho. I love them. But I can't think of any others.)

That feeling when the art looks gorgeous and I get all excited... and then I realise it's Omegaverse, which I usually dislike. (My personal taste. I'm jealous of all the people who like it and seem to have hundreds of new manga to read!) So I think I'll read the comments to see if this could be one I like despite being omegaverse... and then I realise "slutty uke" in the description of the story in the first comment I read means the comments are going to make me really angry, if there's slut-shaming going on.

*SPOILERS*
I didn't like Kyle. Maybe partly because he did seem like a kid, I found him quite annoying. I wish the story was longer so that the plot could have been more complex and the characters could be developed more (although it was well done for being so short). And I really wish that Sean and Vinny ended up together. Kyle could eff off out of town, and end up with someone else anyway. I did like Sandy, she could find someone awesome.

Yep, this is one time where, no matter how I 'spin' it, I could never see Kyle (the uke) as the victim. More like the victimizer.

I really don't get why people think the omega being bitten is romantic. At all. It doesn't mean anything for the alpha, it has no effect on them. It's just something that controls the omega so they only go into heat for the alpha who bites them. If an alpha they hate bites them, or an alpha who doesn't give a shit about them, it basically just ruins their ability to have a normal happy sex life with anyone else, even another alpha. That is not romantic, it is completely f*cked up. So it's more romantic that these two have actually chosen to be together, without any biting.

I'm not sure if it's romantic, but it does make sure the omega doesn't end up getting raped if the omega goes into heat in front of someone who isn't the alpha.
So it's like a safety mechanism, I guess. It gives the alpha and the omega piece of mind, if they've chosen to be together. If not, well it's not like the bite is permanent, if the omega rejects the alpha eventually it goes away.
Off topic, Betas seem to be the ones who are really screwed. Sure they don't get controlled by their instincts like alphas or omegas, but if they're with an omega if the omega goes into heat in front of someone else (especially an alpha) they get raped. If they're with an alpha and an omega goes in heat in front of the alpha odds are the alpha won't be able to control himself so they get raped. It seems really risky because it's not about love or will, it's about being taken over by instincts which is horrible. No handy bite mark to protect anyone there.

I agree with you, especially about betas, although omegas still really get the worst deal in my opinion. I mean what if an omega loves a beta, or two omegas fall in love -- I would LOVE to read that... but still (as you say), none of that is in any way romantic.
Also, as far as I understand it, yeah the omega's pheromones won't affect other alphas if the omega's been bitten -- but that doesn't actually prevent anyone from raping them. It just means that the omega's body will reject others and make the omega feel physically sick if anyone but "their" bitey alpha has sex with them. The bite stops other alphas from "marking" them, and stops the omega pheromones from sending other alphas into involuntary raping frenzies, but that's the extent of it. Not really entirely safe, given how omegas are viewed by society ( ̄へ ̄)

I think I get why omegas are hated, not their fault, but its like a raping time bomb that can go off at any point. Betas seem like they can control themselves, but alphas just go crazy. Even if the bite isn't perfect it must be a relief for some omegas.
Honestly the omega universe seems like a horrible world to live in. That's why mangas like this where it's adorable and fluffy are so nice to read. Some of these omega universe mangas are just depressing.

The depressing nature of the omegaverse makes me wonder if it was always, when first thought up, intended that way or did it just evolve that way. I'm confused by why there are some 'women' vs. the obvious omegas, betas and alphas. Why would they evolve if there were still a type of women to be found?

That's exactly why I find the male pregnancy aspect so unnecessary in omegaverse -- as well as being something I dislike intensely. It seems like it's basically just a way of making ukes (as almost every single omega is) even more like women. When mpreg makes its unwelcome appearance, the story stops feeling like BL at all, for me. The depressing, discriminatory social structure could be SO interesting, but the mpreg nonsense just makes it feel ridiculously heteronormative, and the whole setting ends up feeling like an excuse to be extra rapey.

List of omegas that aren't the stereotypical effeminate men you don't seem to like (effeminate can be subjective to one's own definition, for this I'm going for 'doesn't look slender or girly like a woman, doesn't act stereotypically feminine, not like there's anything wrong about being effeminate or being a woman, if men want to be like this then let them ffs it's their choice not ours):

The problem I have with people saying "If you don't like it don't read it, check the tags and shut up" etc. etc. is that there are some beautiful, amazing, genius manga that have rape in them. Get stuffed, why would I deprive myself of those amazing manga just so I won't dislike the lighthearted rape apologia in some, and hurt your feelings for some reason by saying I don't fancy it? A lot of the time what people (sometimes myself included) take issue with is HOW rape is handled in a story. Sometimes it makes an otherwise good manga worse. Some of it comes down to cultural differences, some of it comes down to personal kinks, but some of it also comes down to ignorance. I'm not actually trying to debate any of that right now - I just think that everyone should be mindful of the fact that we all love yaoi, even if we disagree on some aspects of certain manga. We are ALL free to express our opinions about it. But, we should ALL try to keep our comments reasoned, and respectful of others' right to differ.
Reading my comment over I wish I could edit it, the "Get stuffed" bit sounded way more combative than it was meant. It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, and certainly not the translator!
Actually the people who are saying don't read it there are tags because some people crosses the line when they try to teach other what they should do or not talking someone if they should read it or not or shaming author for their work is a no no.they talk and talk about rape is romantacize in this manga they knew it from the first chapter if they dont like it why are they reading til chapter 4 you know there are people who like that kind of stuff .its fantasy people want to enjoy it but when we see hate comment and sometime get scolded for it it really feels bad .you just have to.know the thin line between reality and ffantsy when reading manga .there is a really big diffrence betwwen critcizing someone and then blaming people for what they read AnD some of people here talk and twist their word like they are blaming people who read them .do you think in real life if someone will get raped they will bejave like that no.they will be devastated .
I agree with you - I seriously meant that EVERYONE should be reasoned and respectful of others when they voice their opinions, whichever side of a disagreement they are on!
Yes preach here nowdays comment section are warzones my god .it.got so.heated sometimes i feel bad for the poor author
