i think the MC was in love with the dead brother from the very beginning. it's possible that there's no romance in the main story.
I think the romance was between the older brother who died and the police guy mc. Itās disturbing if the police guy gets together with his dead lovers little brother.

So far in the second season there is no romance at all but the police guy and the ml are getting along very well that they ended up living together and it might turn into a romantic thing...who knows. I don't really care about the romantic stuff cause the cases they solve are quite interesting but I doubt there is going to be a romantic relationship at all.
Lmfaoo basically but not always extreme. Basically two people going through the same traumatic experience and bonding over it. Like in a case where two people would get kidnapped and manage to escape, theyād get closer and bond āthanksā to it. They wouldnāt necessarily end up romantically involved but they got closer because they can understand each other from the same trauma they both were exposed to. If that makes sense, iām not the best at explaining stuff

They are really fated from the beginning of the story. You will see hints of how much history the two characters have especially when the sea shells was revealed. Maybe that's why the brother had to die. A lot of symbolism. He was in love with his brother but he was not his fate. Now it's all depends on how the author will unfold love between them

those flashbacks seem to indicate that he had such feelings although he had no intention of pursuing him or anything. at least that's how it felt to me. but i could be wrong
