psyche bestie i have faith in you
yes, you're are extremely idealistic and clash with medea, but
a. you provide a good foil to medea and can help highlight each other's traits for better or for the worse
b. it's honestly better that you question medea and develop your own voice rather than obediently listening to her every word than eros. just because medea's the mc does not mean that you should toss away your own opinions for her sake
that being said, you're going to get hurt a lot if you keep your idealistic views down the road because everyone in this webtoon is fucked up except for dekis(?)
i don't want you to lose all your kindness because i am so sick of seeing traditionally feminine traits (being kind, soft, etc) being bashed in this genre, but rather pull a kaneki and realize it's better to protect solely the people you love, rather than strangers
sincerely,
someone who kins you

this !!! also, what i don't get with people who don't like psyche for being the "soft" one, is why do they think being compassionate and not losing empathy is equal to being weak? like, i so love medea but why does it seem that medea is the strong one while psyche is the token weak one?
shouldn't they be looked at as two sides of the same coin? and not as an anti thesis to each other?

Same same, the only reason I could think of would be internalized misogyny? Because being compassionate and stuff is associated with women, and masculine traits (aggressive, cold, unmerciful) are typically praised and more valued. And so girls grow up thinking that if they want to be independent, respected, and not fit the stereotypes that they have to bash anyone who acts like a decent human being which is sad </3
And yes, I agree! Psyche's kindness is by no means a bad thing, and in some cases, it's better to use her approach rather than Medea's. It's really concerning how people still bash Psyche and hype up Medea, as if caring about others is a bad thing. Psyche is bashed for being "weak" and a "pushover", but when she questions Medea because she doesn't agree with her approach, actually standing up for herself and expressing her opinions in ways that she never could have with Eros, people start calling Psyche a bitch and saying that she needs to back down and blindly obey Medea, which is ???? because they were getting mad at Psyche in the first place because they perceived her as weak?? They don't want Psyche to develop as a character, they just want to be able to hate her for being kind and because her entire existence doesn't revolve around the main character. Of course, you can't save everyone all the time, but Psyche in the current scenario objected because she was worried about what would happen to Medea if her scheme were discovered. And while people may look down upon empathy, empathy can also be used for manipulation (which everyone loves for mcs). Since you can feel the person's pain, you know what would hurt them the most or cause them to act in a certain manner and use that against them, in the process fucking with them. By being empathetic, your choices will appear to be in the person's best interest, when in reality they might not be. Of course, people tend to favor the kind of manipulation that people like Medea does, but regardless manipulation is manipulation.
Also kjlsdfldkflkd sorry for the long rant, I just hate seeing people treat kindness like it's a shitty thing or looking down upon empathy because it's "weakness" and doesn't make you a manipulative badasss, when in reality empathy can definitely be used to hurt others.
Of course, that could be a reason why people hate empathetic characters, but most of the complaints I've seen around it is that it makes *female* characters weak (because apparently it's okay for men to be uwu soft, but not women :/), presumably because it won't make them a badass that manipulates everyone.

Can someone please spoil me about Christa, the former queen of the Western kingdom and if she's a good person or not because I think I saw a spoiler about her father doing something to Navier and I really want to know if she'll harm Naiver because while I love my female friendships, something tells me this won't be the case :')

Spoilerssss
I am actively updated with the eng trans novel
Christa wanted Navier to keep some of her staff in the royal office (bec. Christa was the acting queen since her husband’s death and Heinrey being single) but Navier said no as she needs her own support who are loyal to her. Navier felt bad about this cuz she felt she is doing the same thing as Trashta who appears out of nowhere and takes the throne.
This was kinda the start of bad blood.
Christa started to interact more closely with Heinrey in a way that would raise malice and spark rumors that she and Heinrey may have some romantic relationship or that she was not far from being Heinrey’s concubine, to which Heinrey always deflected (he’s loyal to our Queen!)
Kapmen (in an episode of jealousy) tries to harm Heinrey’s trustworthiness to Navier by giving him a (defective) love potion hoping Heinrey will make a ‘mistake’ with Christa. Thankfully nothing happens.
From then on, Heinrey “imprisoned” or banished Christa to her house. Duke Zmensia (Christa’s father), wanted to take revenge on Heinrey. He knew about Navier’s infertility rumors so he took advantage of a big ceremonial event in which the monarchs need to eat food. Navier was already 2 months pregnant here but they have not announced yet in order to trap the sly nobels who are not in favor or Navier and Heinrey. The duke planned to serve food that was not necessarily harmful to the person but would be fatal to a fetus if the person was carrying. Navier and Heinrey easily spotted this and finally announced the pregnancy.
After the ceremony, Heinrey confronts the Duke and says if he denies this crime, Christa will be executed. The duke denies and Heinrey fakes a Christa being killed. But soon after this, Christa commits suicide. Heinrey doesnt really know the reason behind this but decides to play this incident to his further advantage by faking Christa’s last will that says she committed suicide because of her father who would lie not even to save is own daughter.

I’m up to date with the official novel on naver. I’m not sure how accurately the novel is translated on other sites but Christa isn’t necessarily a good or bad person. She’s in love with Heinrey and actually wanted to marry him but married his brother because of her father Duke Zmensia. When Navier came although Christa gave some way to Navier but she still had most control as Queen. Navier realised that Christa still has much authority and is kind of reluctant to hand over her powers. As the new Queen Navier started appointing her people in the palace to have an her own support and people loyal to her. Heinrey helped and wanted that as well without disrespecting Christa. Grand Duke Kalfman also came to the Western Kingdom to establish the trade they had previously decided with the Eastern Empire but now with the Western Kingdom under Navier’s authority. Before Navier’s offical wedding Kalfman warned Navier that he may do something to harm her and Heinrey’s relationship because of his jealousy but he’ll try to control himself. Navier thought he said he won’t try to do anything so she didn’t think much of it. In the end he couldn’t control himself and slipped Heinrey a love potion. Christa took advantage of this and came in front of Heinrey as soon as he drank the potion. She closed in on him and tried being a little intimate with him but Heinrey escaped. Also I’d like to add this all happened on Heinrey’s and Navier’s wedding reception so a day after their wedding. The effect of the portion didn’t last past one night and in the morning Heinrey told Navier the truth. Thankfully nothing had happened between him and Christa but Navier was very angry with Kafman and severally told him off. Christa again tried to take advantage of the situation and came to Heinrey and in front of Navier said that Heinrey should make her his concubine because of the intimate night they had. They had no such night and she lied. Heinrey severely told her no at the stop but because of Christa being the ex queen her claims couldn’t be disregarded and the issue was brought in front of the counsel whether Christa would be Heinrey’s concubine or not. Heinrey and Navier gathered evidence with the help of Kafman and one of Christa’s maids that no such thing happened. After that she was banished to another city with no political power and was under house arrest under Heinrey’s order but Navier didn’t know about the house arrest nor did anyone else apart from Heinrey and his men. Later Christa committed suicide there.
