People would only have a problem if its gay ships

Here's a rational. Maybe it's cuz the characters are assumed straight? so a straight ship makes more sense than a gay ship, legal or not. If the characters were assumed gay, and they were put in a straight ship, then I'm sure people would have the same issues too(?)
