Sharp and mild, dull and keen,
Well known and strange, dirty and clean,
Where both the fool and wise are seen:
All this I am, have ever been, -
In me dove, snake and swine convene!
Those who said we don't need to hold grudges don't love history lessons and learn from past mistakes of our forebears, unless you're from the Christian religion (the only religion that teaches something about forgiving and forgetting and loving others beyond sin and despite what they are AND also preserve history), then continue to read my tales of glory (from a non-religious human being).
Yes, it's fine to hold grudges and never move on if you're high functioning and can genuinely be happy even though you have grudges. You'll alternate between the pain, anger, and happiness (you won't get any satisfaction until you get your revenge). And why did I say you'll alternate between these emotions? Well, the perps don't bother feigning remorse or at least try to be diplomatic. So once they repeat their crimes, you will be reminded of their evil ways whether you like it or not.
Of course, we can forgive as many times as possible. Naturally, we can also hold grudges and then let them go as many times as possible. And like I said, grudges won't give you any satisfaction. So I don't do grudges without revenge.
Also, there is such a thing as a positive grudge. How do you do it? You turn your negative emotions into something positive and channel all your focus and energy into becoming better than your previous self.
√ Example When I was young, without giving too many details, I was the only freshman who was selected to join a team of something to compete, and their members held grudges for losing last year's national (a thing I wasn't involved in because of our age gap and different category, thus I was competing with different team and members). So their grudges weren't mine, but I completely understood their mentality as reigning champions (national level). So naturally, they missed the opportunity to rep our nation to higher events/programs/competitions (beyond national is the world stage level, it's a different ball). It's not something I can dismiss as last year's reigning champions team (different category & age group). What's funny was that they were mad at me for being one of the members who beat their related sister school (for younger age groups LOL) and admired me for making it to their team. It's a one-sided love-hate relationship with them from their end (I didn't volunteer to hate or love them). But since I was the youngest + some (the majority except for the teachers/coaches and captain) of them held animosity towards all those who robbed them, including towards me, I just relaxed. That's what you get when you reach the top anyway (it comes with the territory). Suffice it to say, we (our school) continued to become the reigning champions even after the whole team (me, the last original member of the reigning team from my freshman year) graduated. We have a bunch of "warmongers" ready to strike vengeance on those who dared to compete against us and annihilate them to defend our titles. Are we petty? No. That's just the natural thing in competitive events/sports. You win, and you lose. Well, maybe for some. We remember our losses and wins.
√ Example (currently as a college student) A girl approached me to join our group assignment, I told her it's not my decision alone. The other decided to give her a chance. She put zero effort into everything: participation, meetings, her part, and our relationship as teammates. Our leader begged us to talk to her, so each of us tried talking to her and tried to ask if she needed help with her part or if there was something she didn't understand or know how to do, but she never responded and never attended any of our classes. The leader begged her for 3 hours before the deadline ended, and she never responded. So we divided her part and completed it within an hour, 2 hours before the submission deadline ended. We rechecked everything together, confirmed no error, and submitted the work without her name. After the submission deadline, the following week, she suddenly appeared acting all relieved, "We did it", and happy and now she's asking for her part from us " What's my part? I need to prepare for the presentation." One of the group members replied, "Oh, just follow the online draft, it's all there". She was shocked, confused, embarrassed and angry after hearing that reply. Clearly, she knew she had done nothing on the online Word draft. All she could see on that doc was our parts, not hers. Her part in the draft was empty. We did her part on other drafts, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc. We didn't share the part we did on the original drafts she could access. She never got to see the final drafts of her part that we did.
"Oh, come on, who are we kidding? Can't you share my part with me? I have nothing to present!" She almost lost her mind thinking that we'd dared to retaliate against her lmao
The same group member calmly said, "What do you mean? It's all there in the drafts. Be sure to add your part on the pptx slides," She said with a smile and looked at my group leader, my group leader looked at me, he mouthed thank you and smiled sheepishly at me. I stared at him stoically and coldly for a long while. So I looked at the girl blankly and quickly said thank you for coming today, see you during the presentation.
She flared in anger and stormed out while cussing at us, "Wasting my @) @(£#( time! Ugh!!!".
On the presentation day, she cut the group leader pretending to be the group leader, introducing all of us, and taking the members' parts. A few members presented her part, and she looked so livid, knowing we didn't give a rat's ass about her feelings. During the Q&A, she overstepped her boundaries many times, pretending to be the one who did the job and insinuating we didn't do anything, like the slanderous snake she is. We covered her part during the Q&A, and we did everything professionally without doing her backhandedly. After we were done, the lecturers and professors applauded us for all our hard work. She was so proud of herself as if she did her part even after failing to answer all the key questions that she took from other members, so the members' parts that were stolen covered the Q&A for her lmao
Then they asked the important question about our group. Why wasnt she included in our final draft submission? So our leader spilled everything while we distributed the proofs in thick printed handouts to the panels (not the other students, only the lecturers and other clients) while the other members showed the proof on our other separate presentation slides just to be more dramatic with all the fancy effects and pro editing. We went all out in 2 minutes to defend our choice in excluding her and did it as plain as possible to capture how much of snake she is that we have to deal with her this way.
Ah, that was satisfying. She failed the course and was forced to retake everything including her attendance. So glad justice was served. The lecturer was surprisingly on our side after learning the real truth.
We've long forgiven her. It was just formality to keep begging her for the last 3 hours before the deadline ended. We put our heads together and I coordinated the whole takedown, we executed our vengeance like pros.
You deserve to speak your mind and stand up for yourselves when you've been wronged and stand by choices against the injustice done to you. Then move on with no regrets.
Dont become a pushover and wallow in selfpity and resentment towards those who wronged you. Inaction and indecisiveness will eat you. Hope this helps. Take courage and seize your time and DO something, otherwise those who wronged you will run your life for you.
Idk what you're going through, it might be worse than these examples from mine. If it's something worse, I'm sure you'll find a way and find your peace after that. You might not be able to get your revenge depending on your ability, but you can get the best revenge by filling that void with other achievements or other fulfilling things (it really depends on the individual; everyone is different), or it is not necessarily fulfilling. I wish you well from the bottom of my black heart.
Happy grudging ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~ (Or not, well, up to you)
Edit: do forgive me for all the errors. I'm lazy to fix them. You get what I'm saying anyway (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I hate losers who steal other people's hard work! Why are adults so roundabout? Just say so, some people can accept it for what it is without the troublesome ways to get back at them.

University life is almost like a concrete jungle for survival of the fittest ehemm. If it were true and fully enforced, they'd have cut off the weak and only the best will remain to make everyone's life on easy mode lol
The thing with diversity admissions that can't perform is they waste other people's time and think they'll get what they want for the privileges given to them freely lmao None of us can give too many details but there's a mutual understanding that these low lifes are beneath the standards. They can't perform so they shouldn't be around us and wasting our time in the first place.
