There are a lot of comments expressing how the mc is just too much of a bloodhound, so this is my unwarranted opinion on the authors choice of character development lol. ヾ(☆▽☆)
Firstly, I think the author is actually a genius in character writing. The plot may be predictable to some, but i think the way the author uses it to show the different sides of humanity in general is very fascinating and frankly amazing to me.
I think this is the authors way in showing what excessive revenge looks like- even if it came from a place of good intention- you really will become exactly what u despise.
Like the man literally told someone to stab a dude… how is that any different to what the people in the golden circle is doing. Sure, he did it caz the dude was gonna trade his life for cash and in a world like that- dog really does eat dog. I will not agree to most of his actions caz at the end of the day what he is doing is shitty too. But i will also not oppose to it all together as well caz people should get whats coming to them.
The author really taught me that we should be critical of those in position of power caz any move they make can severely impact us. (Take the eldest son- the difference he made to the school was exponential).
But also be critical of ourselves too. The reason the mc can hold all this power its caz he basically knows significantly more than others do. I think this is also a jab at us irl to not make world changing decisions too rashly without proper knowledge and full information.
I think with such story like this it shows that no one is inherently good or evil and their actions did not come form just one linear thought process. Yes, what they do CAN and DO affect people (sometimes even in the worst of ways) take that girl for example (smh she fr deserve it ngl she was an actual pisstake). But like people make decisions weighing in all factors (all factors they can consider at that moment at least). So, i think, especially after finding out about how one petty rejection can lead to overwhelming consequences, we shouldn’t take the actions of others too deeply and see how our reactions can lead to consequences. Caz people, they got their own shit to deal with nd we cant say they deserve more this or more that caz tbf you dont know what cards they have been given. We shouldn’t judge, and even worse try to dictate, how someone plays with them. (LIKE THAT PISSTAKE OF A GAYL)

I didn't read all of it, but the parts I skimmed through I 100% agree w you. The author is a fucking genius. Many authors nowadays have a thing for "success is the best revenge" (which it is most of the time), but sometimes it just does not cut it and this story is litt the definition of a good cold hearted revenge story
