i hate when people click on stories they know they won’t like and go out of their way to criticize it and make people feel bad for liking it.. especially since they’re already know what they’re signing up for
From what you're saying, it sounds like the person just writes their own comment criticizing the story? Unless they're full on harrassing someone else for liking it, there's no problem with criticizing stories. That's the point of a comment section, to put down your opinions whether it's negative or positive.
And also even then, I think if it's something more so about criticizing some questionable/problematic content, again, people don't have to just move on and ignore if they don't like something. Just as some are entitled to their opinions about liking something that like, others have the the right to disagree with it and express that. That's just how it is.
Wow, you just put all my thoughts into words!! (More eloquently, of course.) I completely agree that criticism of any kind, positive or negative, is valid, as long as it’s not harassing the author or other readers. Very well said!
I feel like some people perceive others disagreeing with their opinion as a personal attack or something, but from what I see, it’s simply just a difference in opinion.
I agree with liminimilk’s opinion, but I’m curious to hear yours as well.
What bothers you so much about those kinds of comments? I’m assuming you’re talking about comments that express opinions about story and aren’t attacking the author or other readers; something like, “(Topic) wasn’t portrayed very well in this story.”
I also want to use your same argument right back at you. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think you’re saying that it’s pointless for readers to read a story if they already know it contains sensitive themes they don’t like. You’re saying those readers should ignore the story and move on.
By that same note, why can’t readers who *do* like the work ignore those kinds of comments? Why can’t they move past those comments and read others that praise the work instead?
i think everyone has a right to criticize whatever they want and yeah it’s easy to ignore these comments but my main point wasn’t the idea of criticizing someone’s work it was to criticize something you know you won’t like, for example someone who sees an incest tag on a story and insists on reading it just to end up complaining in the comments.. like why put yourself through the hassle of reading it in the first place then?
seeing people complain about taehwan every week just to come back and think his character will have randomly developed is hilarious, also stop saying yeonwu deserves better when you guys start reading s2 knowing he’d end up with taehwan.
Literally!!!
