It’s just a time skip I’m assuming (7yrs into the future), if anything yaejin might have found someone who does look like genie and is using her but idk the author has a lot of gap holes for example the book author following genie back but it’s not even mentioned again or what genie is doing, I’m assuming it might be explained in the next chapters
