ok so its not just me, the characters and dark story reminds me of Hanningram a lot. I think thats actually cool to be able to see such a direct inspiration!
I love Lance's design with the tie and the gun harness across his chest, I think its intentionally meant to mimic a cross. Lance's mostly black outfit with a long overcoat, contrasted with William's white police shirt is a nice touch. Lance is closed off and seems quite depressed, but its almost like a scared animal putting up a barrier, scared of being hurt. Black, he's an exorcist constantly dealing with dark cases, and often misunderstood it seems due to his line of work.
Contrasted with William's white police shirt, no jacket to hide it. Like he's presenting himself as clean and even backed up by 'good' authority. Nothing untoward to see here, no black soul or evil deeds here sir!
(Im pretty sure William Gilbert is the kid from the orphanage flashback that almost made it out. Seems something went wrong when he was being sacrificed and instead he contracted with a devil and gained the power the cultists were likely trying to gain. I think they realised this so they all went into hiding because he's way more powerful than he should be. Now he's hunting them all down, killing them and their family's just like they did to him.)
Im very excited about this series! I would love to see where it goes, the plot is intriguing. I want to know more of Lance's backstory, and more about William's psyche and connection to him. He seems to know Lance from long ago (but why doesn't Lance remember him?) and genuinely cares for him, but he seems blackened by his horrific experience and perhaps influenced by his contract with a devil. How deep/far will that dark influence take him? He seems to desire to possess and break Lance, but also wishes to protect him and would feel regret and shame for doing so. Honestly I hope its not entirely a devil's influence, I think its more realistic and interesting if he's simply been twisted by the scary shit he went through growing up, I think it'd be weirder if he came out of that normal.

damn some of u struggle with literacy or are too young to be reading this if u read 5.5 and came out of this genuinely thinking he raped him. Like they spell it out for u that he's confessing about a dark fantasy he has.
Regardless, given the tone and the explicit detail of said fantasy being included in this story, you guys should really prepare for the tone and potential dark themes/acts this story is going to get into. Im not saying its guaranteed he will assault the MC, but 5.5's detail makes it clear it could go into the territory. Im just trying to say don't act all surprised if this gets even darker and does go down that route, 5.5 as good as warns you that it could be on the cards. If thats uncomfortable for you, thats understandable but now is the time to bow out and not have a meltdown down the line if it does.

im only 9 chapters in but im very confused on the tone of this series. It kind of reminds me of like a lukewarm sort of more wholesome (ish) version of Profundis. Which would be fine, but it feels somewhat reminiscent characterwise, which is kind of weird.
Its like the tone wants to focus on consent but then at the same time seems to play very fast and loose with it. Profundis has a lot of rape, but at least the story doesn't shy away from it, its very clear what its about and how dark the situation is. The art and vibes make this one feel like it should be this feel good comedy, but the way the characters talk about guiding seems rather ick, but then the characters kind of go back and forth with their intentions.
one second it feels like they're about to jump the MC's bones and have their way with him (boss perving on him, invading his house and personal space, talking about how gullible he is, going all the way, biting him ect)
and then the next second the commander is talking about how the MC probably has trauma and they should all be careful. like what.
Idk. Im fine with dark themes, I like profundis, but at least that series has the decency to be upfront and doesn't try to whitewash its themes. This series is confusing me.
The MC is very wishy washy with his boundaries, Im not sure I like him. I don't mind that he's not bright but I feel like the stoic put together character design doesn't suit him much as a result.

STOP IM CRYING NOW!! After all the hardship he went through, he finally wished for someone to help him instead of shouldering it all by himself and Wanthong appeared!! OUR WANTHONG!! OOOAUUGGHH IM CRYING THEY'RE MEANT TO BE!!!
God its such a good tie in, I love this story so much. I want Prong and Chian to be happy and safe and live a good life

read a few chapters a while ago and liked the story but wanted to let it simmer, came back to it now but saw album shots of Jin and captain(?) (can't remember names) but is Jin... not a bottom? is he a switch?
idm spoilers, I just wanna know cause I prefer bottom MCs and I liked Jin that way, so idk if its worth picking up if he's a switch or a top

I think Jin might end up being a top, but he's not the only main character. The 4 people on the cover are the main characters, and will have their own season focusing on them. This is the first season which focused on Jin. So if Jin turns out to be a top, you have three other main characters who are possible bottoms.

Actually, thats a very good point that I'm not sure about, I got the information from MTL-ing(Machine Translating) the Epilogue episode off the Korean L3zhin site, so I don't know how accurate my info is.
.
What I've gathered is: Jin, Kimoto, Garon and Tehir are the main characters, and that this manhwa will be split into 4 parts. Each part will have a character's individual story that the author wants to use to convey an overarching theme/message for their manhwa. This season is the first part and is labelled 'Jin's Story' and the next seasons will be another part that'll focus on telling another character's story.
.
So I don't really know about an endgame MC. Again this info could be wrong, so if you would like to verify this information for yourself, I got it from the: 'Epilogue Episode' of '햇님반유치원동기' on the Korean L3zhin site.
I love that the Prince is just as unhinged as our Hwayeong, it just took meeting someone like her to bring out his freak xD
Its so cute to see them finally acknowledge their feelings for each other and be down bad for each other. Both being dramatic about not seeing each other for a few days, I want a love like this :)
