Yeah they definitely HAVE NOT. Unless they read on other sites too but oh boy they got a lot to experience. Honestly I’d take the advice of the other comments. Read another genre, verge out of what you’re comfortable with or just take a break from reading entirely. It’s what I do, my break can be reading anything but bl or just not reading at all but it’s like liquid gold when I come back.

Make sure to delete your history if you do this though… don’t make the mistake I did

I got tired of BL too and stopped reading it for a year or so but now I'm back on that BL grind. Might be a good idea to just take a break from BL and manga in general for a while

Also i totally get you, the joy bl offers is almost surreal so reading that gives some crazy dopamine rushes, but we got way too used to this dopamine that its hard to stop overnight, and just as u said, most of them pale in comparison to the good ones i read previously so insteas of the joy u feel u just end up feeling shitty that u wasted ur time and forced urself for something that didnt even give u the pleasure u expected

Similar thing happened to me! I used to read BL into the wee hours of the night - it felt like I had no self-control and I would feel physically sick because I was so sleep-deprived. I always felt really bad about myself for putting myself through that for no good reason. Unfortunately, what got me through this was anhedonia (which is often a symptom of depression) - I stopped enjoying BL as much, so I would only read it out of habit before I finally stopped reading it at all for a while. Now, BL doesn't give me the same dopamine rush it used to, so it's easier to take breaks.

Realizing I said all that and didn't even give any advice... I think the main issue is that when you're in the throes of "addiction," it's just so hard to pull yourself away from something you find so pleasurable, even though the consequences majorly suck. One technique you could try is this: at a time close to your preferred bedtime, you could put down your phone or whatever device you are using and tell yourself that you'll able to resume reading in 10 minutes. Ideally, you'll have fallen asleep by the 10-minute mark; but if not, you can go through the process again of telling yourself that if you make it through the next 10 minutes, you'll be able to read BL again. Alternatively, if "fooling" yourself in this way doesn't work, you could actually allow yourself to read it at the first 10 minute mark for 10 minutes, and then take another 10-minute break, shrinking the time you allow yourself to read each time. You could also throw your phone away after each increment of time so that you feel less inclined to go and get it when the break is up. I have so many other suggestions I want to say but I've already written way too much. This is just one idea I came up with on the spot - I hope it can be helpful in some way, either as it is right now or modified. It's basically how I get myself to do chores sometimes.
