This manga is exceptional, literally a head above its peers. Reading this while listening to Eartheater was a total trip (especially High Tide, Pure Smile Snake Venom (which is basically the plot) and Sugarcane Switch). The writing is so subtly beautiful, particularly in the second volume, and the quiet, passionate love between En and Ichii makes my heart burn and ache interminably. They're so precious.
this is just sad. sixx is clearly twisted up in some fundamental way that propels him to fulfilling his semi-obsession and votive devotion to marlon, whereas marlon is an amoral, insecure man seeking validation through a warped, severely unbalanced, and honestly a bit abusive, relationship with a man over a decade younger than him.
the power dynamics are so uneven, and even if (when) this does develop into some half-cooked form of love, i don't see how any of them will emerge better.
though tbh this just might make the story more interesting. so i'll just think of it as a piece of general fiction and less so some raunchy, supernatural romance.
This is picking ngl y’all just keep searching for bad aspects instead of seeing it as it really is yeah six obv like Marlon a lot bc of their past but their current relationship is perfectly fine and it’s not toxic or abusive and btw age difference is not that crazy as long as they’re both adults and not something like 50 years age difference (I’m exaggerating on purpose)
unpopular opinion but I really do think they should live apart for a while because they seem pretty close to developing codependency and Lyle is extremely swayed by Ash's opinions...
"My decision just then was very well-considered and rational."
Me: *flips table* "Rational my a**."
100% agree. Lyle has his lifelong expectations lifted so he can finally have something(someone) he wants. He's still in the dream of it all. But he never had to think so hard about the direction his life was going before. He needs some time alone and Ash should take comfort he wants to stay as close as he can; at the very least, he should think of it as an alternate place for SnuSnu.
I agree , like now their relationship is heavily dependent on Ash and his opinions, and Lyle should be a bit stronger in this relationship.
But I think Ash is not a bad person of course, he is just insecure as much as Lyle, but we don't see his thoughts. And he wants the best for Lyle, but he needs to listen to him a bit more. Or help Lyle express his feelings T_T
the ml is actually a monster, he explicitly beats and slaps the uke multiple times and proceeds to r*pe him. irredeemable imo...
Sorryy i meant to upvote
