I don't really think this needs to end in a different way. I loved the end even if, as I romantic kind of person I would have enjoyed the "happy ending" everyone was expecting, but this it's an happy ending on its own.
And also I don't really understand the hate on the guy, well I can see why people would hate him but for me it doesn't make any sense, insecurities are so awfully hard to handle so I really can't fault anyone

That thick headed Mame wouldn't see anyone but Souta ... That is still happening isn't it. The realtor wanted a relationship with Mame, she was ready to move on, we all got the "moving forward to a happy ending" vibes and then out of nowhere she drops "But I still love Sou" in our laps.

I've liked CH for a while now... Ever since he started liking Minoh. He had a marvelous character growth. I'm a sucker for such beautiful char development. (Yeah, obviously Gitae is the best, but CH is 2nd).
