So again on this topic: https://www.mangago.zone/home/mangatopic/18354359/
As one commenter pointed out, Guwon is watching a boulder making sure it doesn’t fall. Sisyphus divine punishment (for tricking Death, but really, for snitching on Zeus) was to push a rock up a mountain, but the rock would always fall back down when approaching the summit. I think our Guwon definitely triumphed, found a way, again, to counter the Gods and put that rock on the summit. Thus, he found SALVATION, in other words: deliverance from the power and effect of sin.
I keep wondering why Guwon chose these people specifically. Like sure, in this situation, it’s necessary to have a doctor (I saw a comment saying he was actually a vet), a teacher, I’m guessing a hunter, a cook, handyman, etc. But why them ? I think that they might all be sinners. Maybe they all more or less tricked Death or at least faced it. I read a comment saying ML might be a murderer, and yeah, he definitely has weird sleeping habits ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Ugh I’m already obsessed with this story, I want to read it all already !!
What do you guys think ?
I dont know much abt the myth although I think it's rlly interesting
Personally I think the Guwon is an orphan who grew up in the system and continue into a life of crime or smth, more specifically maybe being a low level member of a mafia maybe since those types of organizations wouldn't mind his ignorance not would they teach him anything either
With the town I think they're iffy, bc Guwon is dumb and doesn't know much I have the theory SOME of the people there are playing pretend so Guwon is happy (like the vet who says he's a doctor) and basically they're deceiving him to a certain level (so I agree they may also be sinners)
Now for what I know abt the myth I think is the opposite of the orginal myth kinda(? Like instead of Sisyphus who tried to reach his goal, Guwon has reached it (create this sorta family that is the village) but now his duty is to protect it, which is represented by his obsession with seeing that the rock stays in place (this family isn't destroyed). I think this whole concept will play a big part in what is actually going on with this village
That’s so interesting! The town people could definitely trick him that way, given that he doesn’t know much (or at least pretends not to). And if he grew up an orphan and/or mafia, then yes, he may not have had the best education, cause they would’ve take advantage of his strength and turned into a hound for the organisation
This shit should have been called « The story of Kim Dan’s abuse » : verbal, mental, sexual, substance…
I’m actually, FINALLY dropping this.
