He did not think about her in the slighted. His behavior wasn't because he was protecting her but he was protecting himself from everybody. He was a victim and did not trust anyone. His behavior is so understandable. And keep in mind he was an S-level esper and she was forced against him by the government to keep his power in check. I do understand that she was hurt but so was he. Just wait and you will see .
