I think the “dream/curse” they’re trapped in is reproducing red heads past but only the relatively good/normal parts n now that its reached one of the tragedies from his past its resetting?? Because in the present/real world it seems like a huge junk of his memory is missing n i think it relates to this n is one of the things that drastically changed him. Just a theory.
