this author is absolutely amazing. Both Min Gyum and Chun Sam are such raw characters and while I can't agree with every single one of their actions, I completely empathize and understand why they think the way they do. Nothing feels shallow or arbitrary, and the depictions of heavy topics like abuse, homophobia, suicide, etc. felt like a sucker punch to the gut in a good way. A lot of people have commented that Min Gyum is too selfish/centered/stupid/annoying, but I don't think they get it: that's the entire FUCKING POINT. He's SUPPOSED to be possessive and vulnerable and mean and STRUGGLE with the concept of love and affection: he's been starved of it his WHOLE LIFE. We are SUPPOSED to be disgusted by his actions because HE DOESNT LIKE HIS OWN ACTIONS EITHER.
Spoiler: (TW assault)
Him getting into a relationship with the blond-haired dude is NOT HIS FAULT. Blond-haired bitch ass slimy asshole GROOMED and ASSAULTED Min Gyum when he was at his weakest point. Min Gyum needed any stability and affection he could get. Pinning him as "fake" or "annoying" because he refused Chun Sam is exactly the type of victim blaming in the real world that makes people afraid to talk about their trauma. Min Gyum was in a relationship with blond-haired dude not because he loved him but because he needed a sense of stability and affection in his life, just like all human beings. He didn't choose Chun Sam because at that point he didn't TRUST Chun Sam despite the fact that he loved Chun Sam much more.
