If you want more authenticity, the bara tag is supposed to be more accurate but I personally read for the plot rather than accuracy.

Well if you’re looking for plot, yaoi and bara is the wrong place for it. Look for shounen ai. Yaoi itself means no substance. I forgot the actual 3 part phrase but essentially it’s porn without plot. They added plot to it but it’s still mostly porn. Shounen ai is boys love so it’s got plot and lots of love. I think they have some shounen ai turned yaoi so it’s love and then sex. Those might be better for you. Look for slow burn tags.

I personally hate how Morino and every single ml are JUST NOW realizing what they did to Juliette for Nasha was bad even tho the worst thing Juliette had done was being rude or stuff like that (especially with a woman next to her fiance and crush)
