Pretty sure that pink haired witch has some mind control abilities, which explain Reynold's reaction after he confronts Penny. I thought that the reason why Vinter originally helped her was because she blackmailed him and told him that she would tell everyone about him being a mage. However that theory wouldn't work as Vinter still is a love interest for that pink bitch. So I tgink that she just manipulates people's minds, but I somehow feel like it only works for a certain period of time, as shown with Reynold. So I guess all that is left to do now is prevent her meeting with Callisto and Vinter, as the others are pretty much a lost cause, especially that older brother bastard. Never trusted him. And never will. Though I feel like if she invested more time into that bastard she would have the safest lifeline. Though he would probably be the first to betray her after pink bitch uses her mind manipulation shit. I don't have any hopes for Vinter, that dude is just to passive for his own good. Reynold is probably more trustworthy than his bastard brother but still he's pretty scary.
Crown Prince, although he broke my heart, is going to be the lifeline. There's no doubt about it, since he's also the only one Penny has feelings for.
As for Eclis... that mind manipulating bitch probably didn't manipulate him into doing what he did (telling his fellows to sell the herbs to escape), plus, althout I do see what she gains from making him reveal her, she gains nothing from making him sell his friends. Which proves my point that Eclis is a fucking bastard. I hope he gets murdered by someone by the end of the story.
Anyways, Callisto all the way + looking out for some wholesomeness from Reynold.

This is a masterpiece. The best shoujo I've ever read. And I've read a lot. It can be a little harsh sometimes, because of how deep the subjective can become, but it's very much amazing.
Not a dull moment, it's like a rollercoaster. I really didn't know the plot and stuff, so the plot twists truly made me GASP loudly.
I like every single bit of this. The ending was perfect. Everything was perfect.

I did not read the novel and didn't see the drama nor the anime.
I ought to say that the manhua's pretty badly written, most of the time. There is no introduction to the universe and I was completely lost and didn't know what was happening for, like, the first 100 chapters.
They did such a bad job at introducing the world of this manhua, how the powers work, how the sects work, nor what exacly the sects are. Plus the story itself was told in such a strage way with constant leapings through time with the flashbacks that not only was I lost as to whether the story took place in the present or the past (Wei Wuxian's old adult body and new body had a similar design, so it really wasn't easy to understand), but I also couldn't memorize what was happening even though I binged the whole story. Like when they were telling what happenend during Jin Ling's birthday party or whatever that was and then they suddently came back to the present without any transitions and I had to go back and read the chapters before the flashbacks cause I didn't remember a thing of what was happening. Also, weirdly enough Lan Zhan looked better in earlier chapters than in the last ones lol.

Now things that annoyed me that are probably also present in the novel: The Nie (little brother's) psycholology could have been explored more. He was so cowardly during the whole story and his brother didn't treat him in the best way, so what made him go as far as resurrecting Wei Wuxian just to hypothetically avenge his older brother?
Also talking about WWX, I didn't forgive him. He never had bad intentions but Lan Zhan, especially, warned him numerous times about how his technique was harmful and how there could come a time when he wouldn't be able to control it anymore. He didn't listen. He CHOSE to keep using it knowing the consequences and never really apologized. I feel like the authors wants the reader to believe that WWX did nothing wrong and that everyone else is wrong for accusing him and being mad at him, as if they were gaslighting him, when he clearly was in the wrong. By the way it wasn't really explained neither how HE himself lost control over his own body.
I also didn't understand what happened after WWX entered the temple for the final battle. I mean, wtf was that. Was big bro Lan there to attack the Jin scumbag, why didn’t he bring and troops? Same for Jiang Cheng, why was the freaking sect leader going to the "battlefield" alone?

Anyways. I still enjoyed the story. It had a lot of potential, with intersting plot points. It's like, I liked the individual little stories but having them all combined into one big mess was too much for me.

I... really really like this. I guess the art plays the biggest role but... I AM ADDICTED. The characters and their personalities aren't really developped, knowing that, I am still way too attached to them. I find myself hoping for Nakyum and Seungho to have a good ending every night, even though I know that's not gonna happen :(
