There were a lot of comments complaining about how it was too much of a slow burner it was on the romance side. I meant I sympathise, being a fujoshi too, but encourage fellow readers to enjoy the story.

I don't mind a slow burner romance if it's supported by a fascinating story and characters. I'm enjoying the many mysteries and world-building. There's more to this than the romance. I'd read this without the budding romance. It reminds me of 'I wasn't Cinderella' which isn't BL.

I was just trying to be jovial when I called myself a 'horny fujoshi.' This thread has gone in an unexpected direction.

I won't deny there's an element of fetishization, but the issue may be more with idealization. I can separate BL from real homosexual relationships because BL doesn't represent reality. They're gay relationships through a mostly feminine lens, so we neatly have a top and bottom as the norm, with the bottom taking the role of the female. Probably why omegaverse is so popular and many of us long to see what the couple's children would look like - even if it's not omegaverse.

This is just my perspective, of course. Anyway, I'm not offended, its been good conversation.

It was the fetishistic angle, as if I was dehumanizing. I actually get bored if there's too much smut without context. For example I'm a fan of Love Shuttle, but zone out when a chapter or plus is just smut. I like smut with meaning, otherwise I wouldn't discern between titles.
