Oh...'to kill a mocking bird' that book haunted me throughout my highschool.
It's a book about racial inequality in the deep south of America in the 30 or 40's in a small town. Its told through the point of view of a little girl called Scout.
The story is about how slowly grows up and becomes more aware of how the world works. The main plot of the book is how she watches her father who is a lawyer in a small town, represent a black man called Tom who is accused of raping a young white girl. The young girl (and her wider family, particularly her father) are essentially viewed as white trash. The story (through scouts eyes) lets us examine the dynamics of racism and personal integrity.
