Everytime I read an update, I am reminded of the Korean movie Cutter. https://mydramalist.com/15076-cutter
This movie is a tragedy.
A BIG SPOILER AHEAD.
There are two guys
Student A - a new student, poor family, sick single mom, needs money for her hospital fees.
Student B - everyone's scared of him, further in the movie we found out his father is sick too (but he seems to not care)
B gets close to A, becoming his friend. Getting rid of the bullies, and even buys him a new phone. A feels uncomfortable, but somehow a relief, hanging out with him.
B is doing some kind of "business", getting paid with a good amount of money. A wants that money too, for his mom, so he asked B to work too. (the whole time, he did not told him about his sick mom)
Later, it's revealed that the "business" is actually drugging young girls for sick old men, a sex crime. While B is letting A go earlier, so he won't do the dirty job, his partners (two guys) inviting A without letting B know. Which made B very angry.
Now, there's one girl, who's in love with B. And she starts following around the two. A falls in love with her, but she rejected him.
One day, a girl A drugged, has been in the hospital, a room next to his mom. And apparently, she remembers A's face, that he's the one who drugged her, and then got raped by some sick man. So he tells B, very terrified. A wants to admits everything to the police, but B refused. Then A goes to his mom and B stays to clean the room.
Suddenly, after taking the trash out, he meets that girl. Surprised, he's asking her why is she here. She's saying she saw A entering that love hotel, and wanted to talk to him, to apologize about something that happened earlier in the movie. B wants to get rid of her, because this is a scene of crime. But then, he's INVITING HER INSIDE, TELLING HER TO SIT ON THE BED, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN RAPING HER AND ACCIDENTALLY KILLING HER, AND THEN MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A DOUBLE SUICIDE. Man, I've never encountered a more terrifying plot than this one.
He then turned himself to the police, and goes to jail. He did it "for the sake of A", as if he took the blame or so. Which is rubbish, because killing and raping someone, is not "for the sake of someone."
Hope I didn't ruin for you the movie, but if you watch it, try not to ship them. This is not a gay movie, this is the truth of the Korean women sex crimes.
Haha you beat me to it,I was about to write a summary myself. I should also mention while it's not said forthright it's implied that Student B had feelings for Student A hence his violent and impulsive rape and murder of girl who Student B has feelings for. His pettiness and jealously lead to his inexplainable actions as an outlet that dire consequences.Despite that the story is really about the unspoken underbelly of Korea's sex crimes which has a staggering number of unreported incidents because of cultural and societal policing. This is specifically showcased by Student A does not confess his own crime once Student B's arrest shifts public interest, reinforcing that people are inherently self serving whether it's a senseless rape/ murder or "accidentally" becoming involved in illegal sex trafficking.
I wish the chapter never ends..
