Wow, so much hate for the pink haired girl, she didn't do anything bad yet. Yes, she also has feelings for Sun Jing. But Sun Jing only loves Qiu Tong. So it's not like pink haired girl has a real chance with Sun Jing. We can ship our yuri couple without automatically hating other characters.
I think it's just because no one has really disrupted or cause trouble so far for them so anything like this, they probably gonna hate them. I see no big deal but maybe people can just chill because at least she's not evil.
Exactly. I like her character, just not as a love interest. She seems like an awesome person though. I hope she will confess and take her rejection gracefully. Move on and be happy.
honestly i think most of the hate is because honestly i think many of us are kinda fed up with the authors putting in that one asshole character that is only there to mess things up between the two mains. at least for me that is how it is and honestly it really is an old cliche that i am rather fed up with
thats exactly what I was thinking, people are cautions with new characters with ambiguous motives cause they have been burned so many times before. this same cliche has been used so much cause the author feels the need to postpone the relationship as she feels like that will turn off people from reading it further, so people just presume (rightfully so id say) that this character is just another cheap attempt of messing things up
This "cliche" does make things more interesting and puts more obstacles in the path of the main couple but in my opinion this will only make Sun Jing and Qiu Tong's relationship even stronger. Since they had an obstacle and they would certainly overcome it.
Also there's a reason cliches exist. Many of these cliches happen in real life, that's why they have been used so much, to make the readers empathize more with the characters. So in my opinion this cliche is okay.
It's way better than the rape in yaoi cliche lol. That is really one unrealistic cliche because it happens way more in yaoi than it does in real life. Also, rape in yaoi is many times glossed over and isn't treated seriously. I've read it even being treated in a comedic fashion quite a lot. So yeah, this is an example of a bad cliche that needs to stop being used so much.
what i was trying to get at is after over 100 chapters the cliched character is not needed because the author has already taken the really long way around with a ton of half assed short chapters some of which are only like 5 or 7 pages i mean yes i love this manga but come the hell on lets get to the romance already this has taken long enough as is
I understant what you're saying. But I think the author does that because their webtoon is popular and the more this story is on-going, the more the author gets paid. So it's a profitable endeavour they don't want to stop soon.
Also, quite a lot of chapters didn't even focus on the main couple, they focused on the character separately and even on supporting characters. Like the giant senpai and Sun Jing's other classmates, also on their basketball game and their rivals etc.
So the story wasn't only about the two main characters, Sun Jing and Qiu Tong but also a dozen other characters.
I'm glad the author finally returned to the main story and away from the side characters. The side characters are fun, but I also want more romance between Sun Jing and Qiu Tong just like you.
So I don't have a problem with the pink haired chick love rival (even though she doesn't stand a chance) I just wish Sun Jing and Qiu Tong kissed for the first time way earlier and became a couple way earlier. So the pink haired chick would have appeared long ago and would have been rejected already.
I think it's not the existence of the pink haired chick that is a problem, but the time she appeared and the pace of the webtoon in general. The author got sidetracked focusing on supporting characters for a while there instead of the main couple. And also, of course it's a profit thing, the webtoon is popular and profitable so the author stretches it out as much as possible. So the romance is going a a snail pace >.<
It's gotten better after they kissed though.
