I'm guessing it was used to distinguish between the two, OG FL vs New FL; in a more symbolic kind of way, as in the previous FL had a darker shade meaning she was more twisted and 'evil' vs the platinum/brighter kind of shade meaning the new her is bright and ambitious. maybe I'm putting too much thought into it but I'm 100 sure it was used to better discern who is who
