And then wanted a competent ml but decided that having 2 op very smart main characters would be too much so made the fl have a few screws loose and the ml a selfish bastard. Fun times.
You're forgetting they're trying to suppress information on Daites and Lady Milliana. It's not that he's trying to leach off of her, it's that he's using his face to shield her and manage politics better. The misunderstanding was orchestrated not just by him, but also by Milliana herself because it's more convenient that way.
As for their relationship, it's polyamorous. Has been since almost the beginning. We're up to chapter 15 already. You should be used to it by now. Get over it already.
