So spoiler warning:
I mean Liqing will divorce him very soon anyway (tho it's cuz he gets imprisoned, is tortured, becomes blind, can't write cuz his fingers broken, and I don't know specifically what happened with his family because the translation wasn't too good on that but from what I understood at least qiyu imprisoned his family and threated that he will kill them and at most he did actually kill them)
After some time Liqing finally agrees to marry the other dude with the blood disease, qiyu steals him away while also looking for the thing that is impossible to find and that cures the blood disease, Liqing almost dies but qiyu climbs a sacred mountain to find a place where you can put a person and they won't die. (And told the other dude about it since qiyu wanted any help to keep Liqing alive)
After a year of searching and still having not found the cure, qiyu gets an invite from the other dude with blood disease to come to his wedding. He visits before to report that he still hasn't found the cure. He finds out that Living has been alive for half a year because that dude did find one more cure and didn't tell qiyu. Qiyu was mostly just relieved to see Liqing alive.
Turns out his mind was damaged and it was said he was talking and behaving like a 7-8 year old and his memory was flawed. He's still blind so when Qiyu calls out to him in a loud voice he hides and calls him the devil. He does remember that the devil was who he was married to before and who was abusive to him so he's scared of him.
I mean I haven't finished it yet but I mean it's obvious it's gonna end up the same as the season 1 lol. Btw there's so much other that happens but I've already written a paragraph.
Like the dude he gets married to ends up becoming controlling and toxic and jealous of qiyu, and qiyu sees that Liqing is forced to rely on him 100% so qiyu decides to give him his own eyes so Living can see(turns out the blindness isn't curable and the only way is to get new eyes I guess).

I think general song or the other dad did appear again (I think one of them was the person who said "he wouldt leave without telling me" when Liqing disappears), so i guess not. At the time I couldt tell.

Yes the emperor did survive because Liqing was smart enough to figure out how to cure him even while he was in pain from being tortured. Also the 2nd ml snuck inside the prison to help him through the pain and relay to his doctor friend what the antidote was.

But what angers me the most is the dissonance in JOs character. How are you gonna write him as caring and also incredibly uncaring at the same time? And there is no difference in the situations to be able to understand what triggers his care or his anger.
He doesnt seem like a person with a personality. There is NOTHING in him to be able to understand what causes him to act the way he does, why he helped granny, why he decided to pour cola on doc.
All he is is a trope of an abuser, there really is no explanation to his behavior to be able to have any empathy for how hes acting.
