Are you Muslim? Cause I am too. Dogs aren't Haram and neither is touching one, nor is it sin to touch one. my mom used to say that all the time when I was little but I did my research when I got older, the reason most older generation muslim say "we can't keep a dog cause it's haram" it's only cause when we read namaz the dog might bark during that time and it can break the namaz. My brother has a dog, whenever he has to pray his wife lets the dog out in the backyard so it doesn't distract my brother from praying and whenever it's raining my brothers wife trained to the dog to not to bark whenever my brother is praying. Just a little price of advice ^.^/

Hmm... As long as I knew we won't have sin by touching dogs, but we will if we eat it. Dogs are considered great defiling filth that will make us unfit to pray tho. And have to clean the part that touch dogs 7th times by water and one of them mixed with soil.
