#nr: ch.38 - at first i thought i was going to read a cute fantasy romance that is giving studio ghibli vibes, but i knew that was too good to be true when we get to nigel's good guy persona with a shady mind. There's nothing worse than a jerk than a man who coverts his evilness. Time and time again we were told by the author that nigel's a problem and that his behavious are harming the people around him including and especially jihwan, but time and time again it was never told to nigel himself who should be the one hearing all this. Instead, his behavious were enabled by the people around him, and although jihwan is a victim in all of this as well, he's one of the enablers. I'm not trying to villainise someone who has trauma, but traumas aren't justifications to a bad behaviour, rather they are and should only be explanations. I'm almost halfway through this and there are still a lot to find out. I'm being hopeful considering the author is very aware of what they are writing about, so i hope they will actually achieve what i hope they are trying to achieve. All in all, toxic behaviours are harmful and can inflict trauma, and jihwan is clearly traumatised before he lost his powers.
