In the very last panel, Taeman isn't smiling. The black and white scene parallels the colored one except for that one panel, possibly indicating that the reality others see and the reality Taeman lives is different. He might seem at peace, but something is broken inside.
It's a fantastic touch by the author/illustrator, and I wanted to applaud the idea to add monologue and break the parallel.
Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me find the title of a manga I read a while back.
It was about a girl and a bonsai tree spirit who fall in love but eventually part ways because of the different nature between human and spirit.
In the end, the two separate in a bitter-sweet way, unable to stay with each other but finding new relationships and having tinges of their past love.
I would really appreciate it if anyone remembers the title!
After reading the notice, I also want to add: support the author if you can or if this story gets an official release.
