That's probably because he's not really human. I mean his birth mother was artificially created to conceive and produce an exceptional 'alpha'. His abilities are far greater than normal humans. So for someone who haven't had a meal for 4 days he just passed out.

I think it might be because he is an alpha, but you can survive up to 3 weeks without food and 3-4 days without water (some articles say a week, usually for people towards the end of their lives when they cant intake water and food).

Yea i basically agree w you, theyre kinda unnecessary and irrelevant sometimes but i do get that the translator wants to help ppl understand the plot

i think if you dont like it just ignore it because this is a sequel to the previous story so to the ones who havent read "for your love" somethings may seem confusing and i think the translators took that in mind too.I do understand where you are coming from but they are atleast good at their jobs ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ dont hate them for doing their jobs (づ￣ ³￣)づ

they (current and previous teams) did mention that park nodeok's writing style tends to be heavy on the vocabulary, idioms, and other nuances in the korean language even way back in For Your Love. so i think it's necessary to help us non-koreans understand ╮(￣▽￣)╭

If ppl is reading this and dunno where Seoul is...well kinda their problem. I feel like the manwha had a bumpy start with confusing translation the first handful of chapters so now the translator/s are trying to overcompensate (and they are doing a great job which I appreciate deeply) - the readers reading are being too demanding, doo y'all need constant summary? How lazy! Also the story is not that complicated, we just need to wait for it to unfold. Ugh.

This is not a remark against the translator/s in any way, I just wish them to feel less burden to satisfy lazy readers.

you do have a point about the chapter summaries! if the translators find it time-consuming, i think it's fine to omit them (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ but i feel like the translation notes + FYL connections are still useful

Definitely the FYL connection are super useful! I just don't want them to drop it cos it's too demanding :(

There was another manwha that I thought was perfectly fine, and I followed the story well – until there was a new team working on it that had to explain every single thing.
Like, imagine watching a movie, but instead of figuring out the context yourself, there just pops up a bunch of text telling you what is going on. How insufferable wouldn’t that be?
To me it almost feels as if the translators are treating the readers like babies – as if we’re stupid and can’t possibly understand what is happening in the story ourselves, and I just don’t like it.

since i have grown up with korean and japanese, i am very familiar with the language and culture and so i don't need any comments for those languages. but since i am not familiar with chinese at all, when i read manhua i really enjoy the comments.

even up until last chapter, someone did not know what jiri meant, and someone asked what Hyung meant as well:') we saw everyone's opinions about the tl and basically came to the conclusion that it might be better to beat a dead horse rather than leave people to confusion and remove a fluid reading experience. though, in that regard, we will be compromising the reading experience for people like you !!

Why even use lesser known Korean terms in an English translation? And I find it rather odd that most other manwhas I read, don’t put unnecessary notes everywhere and I also don’t really see people complaining about not being able to follow the story.
I wrote in another response that it’s kind of like watching a movie, but instead of actually figuring out the context yourself, it’s just a bunch of text on the screen. It would be insufferable as all hell.
In the end tho, I am here to read a manwha; not get an impromptu Korean lesson, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy learning new vocabulary every now and then.
Your job as a translator is first and foremost to translate the manwha, and I think that anyone with a fundamental understanding of how languages work, knows that things are said differently in various languages, so mentioning that it is different is kind of redundant. If you want to include it as a lesson, leave an asterisk and refer people to the end of the chapter. If it actually is something that is relevant to the story, it can stay as a small translator’s note in the same panel. In another manwha I saw someone use a native idiom and put a long T/N next to it explaining what it meant. They should instead have found an English equivalent of the idiom instead, and talked about the native idiom at the end – that would actually be interesting and not ruin the immersion in the story. Tho I have also heard that putting asterisks refering people to the end of the chapter is also no good, so I don’t actually think anyone can win in this situation. What I just explained is my ideal way of using T/N’s but I can’t decide how you will do it and how others will react to that. People seem happy with how things are currently going, and I love that for them, it just unfortunately doesn’t work for me.

you're right, manhwas don't have many TL, but i have run across my fair share of them (and with a lot of the manga i read, there are tons of them !) but i totally understand your sentiment:)

you're also right about people not enjoying asterisks and scrolling to the bottom...you are very open-minded for having considered both sides of the argument:)

honestly, i dont understand why you find it so annoying when you could have just skipped the notes part? the notes are optional. nobody is forcing you to read them...

i personally like the notes because it helps me understand when i dont sometimes and makes me more interested in the manhwa.
