Like the author said season 3 mostly gonna be about gyeol and his past life then should have started with that after seeing yunho being miserable then straight up 2 chapter smut only makes me think author literally just have cuck fetish . Can someone explain to me why Suyoung regrets losing Yunho ... if when he got caught cheating he wanted to break up with Yunho? And he only regretted after he didn't resist Gyul when the Yunho proposed the threesome ...
He hurt Yunho so so much and from what you guys are saying he is with Gyul now. And only with 15 chapter most probably will still be with him.
I mean the title is The Form Of Broken Love and right now Suyoung is broken and with Gyul and some can argue it's a type of " love " ...

The author said the story has a happy ending which could mean a lot of things, but it almost definitely won't end with Suyeon and Gyeol together. Now whether the happy ending is Suyeon and Yoonho together or Suyeon and Yoonho moving through their traumas and finding future happiness on their own remains to be seen.

Unfortunately, 16-17 chapters is very short so I fear that a lot of Suyeon and Yoonho's recovery will happen off screen. We are still about 1.5 years away from the first chapter so time skips will do a lot of the leg work.

Suyeon wanted to break up with Yoonho because he knew that the relationship in the current form was only going to keep hurting Yoonho. In the review at the end of season 2 the author states that Suyeon is caught in a vicious cycle of self-loathing, hating himself for being weak to pleasure. He then uses sex and violence to escape those feelings. Yoonho was struggling with treading the line of being a 'master' and boyfriend to Suyeon. Yoonho explains in chapter 33 that he enjoys hurting Suyeon but it sometimes leaves him feeling alienated from himself and he fears that he may one day either kill Suyeon or hurt him so much that he rejects him (Chapter 36).

Suyeon tried to give up having violent sex for Yoonho's sake but it's like a drug addict trying to quit cold turkey and he felt himself relapsing. Instead of causing Yoonho anymore pain he went to Gyeol because he knows that Gyeol is capable of hurting him without feeling any guilt or shame. Suyeon is fully aware that Gyeol does not love him in the same way that Yoonho does but Suyeon has spent 10 years chasing Gyeol's affection. In chapter 55 Suyeon says that he didn't apologise to Yoonho sooner because he was scared Yoonho would forgive him. Suyeon wanted to break up with Yoonho because he knew he would only keep causing him pain.

There's a reason why when they were students Gyeol would refuse sex with Suyeon and instead offer violence but in chapter 44 when Suyeon came looking for violence and explicitly said he didn't come for sex Gyeol ends up sleeping with him for the first time. More than anything Gyeol enjoys destroying Suyeon's ego because he resents that Suyeon is the superior artist. When Yoonho was watching them have sex suddenly Gyeol was saying all the sweet things Suyeon had longed to hear from him when they were students but the other times they have had sex Gyeol degrades Suyeong reminding him that he's still the same whore he always was.

I'm a bit surprised that people were expecting something different at the start of this season. It was always going to start with Gyeol and Suyeon together with Suyeon clearly in some sort of self-destructive tailspin.

Suyeon is clearly very depressed, I think people mistake his arousal during sex as him being happy instead of seeing it as a symptom of his sex addiction. Suyeon loved being an artist with pottery being his only bright spot from his childhood. Gyeol made him quit his job and has him locked up all day wanting him to only be thinking about sex. In chapter 59 Suyeon says that if he does anything besides masturbate during the day Gyeol ignores him for days leaving him locked up on his own. Gyeol is overjoyed because he has finally destroyed Suyeon the artist and now all that remains is Suyeon the whore, and he's once again reminding Suyeon that he's the same as he was in college, waiting for Gyeol's return. If this is supposed to be a story about healing and growth there's no way Suyeon will end up with Gyeol.

So basically Gyeol is the worst piece of shit here.

I agree, I wouldn’t say suyeon is happy but his sex addiction is making him weak to the pleasure. You can tell by his expressions.

Also why did Suyeon casually accept to have sex with Gyeol in front of Yunho? I didn’t see if he was nervous or anxious that his lover/ex lover was watching? I guess it’s coping mechanism.

My main question is, why is Gyeol this desperate? Yeah he’s insecure about his skills compared to Suyeon’s superior skills, but what…

I don't think Gyeol hates Suyeon, he just hates that Suyeon made him feel inferior back in university. The author has said that Gyeol's mother was an artist so he has probably always had a connection to art that his peers didn't which is an advantage. But then he goes to university and meets Suyeon who is excelling beyond him getting exhibits etc. and it was a hit to his pride.

The author has said that Gyeol derives more pleasure from mental sadism than physical. So, seeing the normally proud and cold Suyeon lose himself to pleasure and become a quivering mess brings Gyeol joy. Basically, Gyeol is happiest when Suyeon is miserable, but I don't think that means he hates Suyeon.

Suyeon also has a hold on Gyeol. In the Season 1 review (which was never translated but can be found here https://x.com/Team_Namollala/status/1774086735632494989/photo/2 the author says that Gyeol is not normally the jealous type in relationships, but Suyeon is the exception. Gyeol is also constantly reminding Suyeon that he is the same person he was back in their student days. It seems Gyeol is terrified of the thought that Suyeon could move on in his life and in season 3 he has made sure to separate Suyeon from everyone and everything so that Suyeon is only consumed by thoughts of Gyeol.

The author has said that it's not a coincidence that Gyeol looks like Suyeon's father. We know that Suyeon looked like his mother, and in chapter 57 we see Suyeon's father telling a young Suyeon that she was a slut and that means Suyeon is also a slut. Chapter 36 shows Suyeon being abused by his father and we see that all these years later he still feels 'dirty'.

It looks like Suyeon internalised the abuse he received from his father and believed he was dirty and undeserving of love. He then meets Gyeol who reminds him of his father and whose approval and love he craves. Gyeol exploits this neediness in Suyeon by withholding affection/sex and instead encourages Suyeon to develop his masochistic tendencies. Suyeon then comes to depend on violence/sex to fill the void left in him by his father's abuse and Gyeol's indifference during their relationship.

That’s so messed up. A father calling his own child dirty should rot, but that’s my opinion. I can see why Suyeon is self destructive, he’s had no one to support him and the one time he does get support in a way (Yunho), he can’t back out of what he grew up feeling like.

Season 3 is supposed to be told from Suyeon's perspective and is supposed to be about the character's working through their trauma and healing. Gyeol has been such a destructive force in Suyeon's life that I don't really see a way that them being together is a 'happy ending' for Suyeon. We haven't had any chapters yet from Suyeon's perspective, but I think that will change from next chapter.

This story has sex as an essential element so there was always going to be smut in this season. By starting the season with 3 of 4 chapters with smut they might be clearing some space for more character driven introspective chapters coming up.

Even if the season started with Gyeol and Suyeon in a relationship while still working together as professors I'd still think it was unlikely they would end up together. What we got instead was Gyeol abducting Suyeon after he passed out, taking him back to his apartment, raping him while he was unconscious (and dreaming of Yoonho), keeping him locked up for 2 months and ignoring him for days anytime Suyeon does something that displeases him. Suyeon now basically exists only to serve Gyeol.

If Suyeon was just a slut looking to be abused, he should be ecstatic because that's what his entire life is now. Instead, we see an emaciated Suyeon looking depressed. Compare Suyeon having sex with Yoonho and Gyeol and you will see the difference in Suyeon's happiness.

When Gyeol returned Suyeon hid a piece of paper so he might be trying to get a message out to try and escape from Gyeol. Next chapter Gyeol wants to show Suyeon a video of them having sex. Suyeon witnessing his own behaviour when overcome during sex might be the incentive he needs to try and escape Gyeol. Importantly, Suyeon didn't choose to go to Gyeol's apartment. He was abducted and because he is the middle of a self-destructive cycle he has been agreeing to all of Gyeol's requests like quitting his job and getting the tattoo and piercings.

I can see it going two ways. Either Suyeon escapes and asserts his freedom from Gyeol or Gyeol tires of Suyeon and once again abandons him leaving him completely destroyed.

Which has Yoonho grabbing Suyeon's arm. It looks like Suyeon was trying to walk away from Yoonho who has stopped him. It also looks like Suyeon has a cigarette burn on his hand. I'd be willing to bet that this is post Suyeon leaving Gyeol with Suyeon burning himself as a more extreme method of fulfilling his sexual urges while still avoiding Yoonho because he doesn't want to cause Yoonho anymore pain.
