As much as I love the art and the story between Paljae and ryeong, holy FUCK does this story draaaaaagg on and on and on. I’ve skipped most of the other character’s scenes and am still able to keep up with this story. Tells you that nearly ALL of these side stories and so entirely unnecessary to the main plot. For the love of GAWD can we stick to the main couple and their story only before I go insane???! I really really really really don’t care about these side stories.
I was going to critique you because you shouldn't be reading this if you because it doesn't suit your tastes but I don't feel like arguing rn
So I'll just say that this side story barely lasts a chapter, and if you want a little spoiler. We're def getting some story on them the next 6 chapters, and ryeong possibly unblinds who knows
Are you aware that this is also a fantasy and drama novel? It’s gonna have fantasy and drama elements, lol. If it doesn’t suit your tastes, then drop it, but don’t complain about this story just because you’re not fond of reading novels without substance or culture or a plot point that goes deeper than two people having sex 30 chapters in. Such a shame that the author and artists get comments that the story is dragging on such a beautiful piece of work, but I guess having a story with real emotional development and genuine internal/external conflicts isn’t for everyone.
lol you seem very heated that ppl cant take an opinion, but clearly from yhis response you can't either.
That being said, while I do get the frustration of not seeing more of the main duo, from the beginning I feel like Paljae has always been about the stories of the people within the world and how they mix and interact with our main characters. I find it builds a very in depth world and setting
Bc people are trying to invalid MY opinion instead of doing what you just did and share your thoughts that differ from my own. I would have gladly discussed how your understanding of the story and mine differ. Teach me something that I may have missed in this story. As complex and nonlinear as this story is I find it very easy for anyone to get lost trying to follow along, especially with the new characters, side stories and sometimes irregular updates we get.
That being said, I’m still intrigued, hence why I’m still up to date, but am I not allow to feel that some of these stories go very in depth with another cast of characters that I don’t think is entirely necessary? Am I not allowed to comment that paljae and ryeong’s story could be told with the same or similar complexity without bringing in new characters every other chapter?
Whether or not you like how I expressed myself the first time is irrelevant. But You best believe that I’ll defend my opinion with the same or stronger energy.
Ya i get it, I dont think your original response was that triggering or warranting of the hate, but the moment you make make toxic responses in kind that's when discussion goes down the drain.
Probably the main thing is just that the story telling format is not ur vibe. I think of this more as an episodic thing with an overarching plot, series like Natume Yuujinchou and Mushishi where it's like standalone episodes each their own story. So if youre not into the individual stories then it might be hard for you to enjoy
How was my opinion not properly stated? How is it invalid? Idc if it hurt your feelings. You’re a dickhead who got hurt over an opinion that has nothing to do with you. Do you know what the different between an opinion and statement are? I don’t care if you agree or not, you didn’t have to respond at all but instead you wanna bitch to me about MY OPINION. Dude stfu and cry about it elsewhere
And seeing it as episodic storytelling makes sense! I never thought of it that way whereas I was just trying to piece a nonlinear way of storytelling into a linear plot. The many different characters that come in each update and the breaks I took in between updates (i usually wait a while for the chapter uploads to build so I can binge them) makes it hard for me to remember all the character names and sometimes even the plot so I did a lot of rereading. I still think that many of these side stories could be told a lot quicker or aren’t necessary at all.
They’re IMMORTAL BEINGS ! I’m convinced that some of you guys who keep crying “pedophilia!” And “grooming!!” Have absolutely no idea what those words mean and how they DO NOT apply in context of this story. It’s like you guys haven’t actually read the story or having reading comprehension issues bc that’s not at all what’s happening here. If you don’t even have the decency or respect for the author of this story to figure out what’s actually going on, shut up about it or leave!

I guess, this link can give you and idea or reason why these guys are like this, I absolutely agree with you, ruined such a beautiful and peaceful comment section, I sometimes hope that this story remains underrated so as to not attract annoying people.
That link is a tumblr rant which has nothing to do with the person in this comment section questioning their relationship. And I’ve literally seen one person talk about it, and they asked a question. I’ve yet to see anyone “cry” about the supposed pedophilia other than you guys. If you guys were to quit yapping about it, then this topic would’ve been long gone. I hope this story doesn’t stay “underrated” so that author gets more money and recognition. Said annoying people are already here and it’s you guys.
You must be new here bc I’ve been reading this manhwa from the day it was first uploaded. Honestly, I’m shocked that you seriously used your rhetoric of “if I can’t see it, it doesn’t exist!” As an actually argument. “They asked a question” hence why I said people should educate themselves on what those words actually mean instead of flooding this comment section with retarded questions and comments about grooming and pedophilia. You will now be blocked for your sheer ignorance and fucking stupidity.
Idk about yall but I’m loving the new art style. I would prefer the old (this new one looks more AI generated) but it still looks great . Plus mcs are like 10x hotter. My only grievances is the author, completely unprovoked, showing us Je-oh uncensored gaping asshole. Yes I know the language is crude but I’m verbalizing the visual effect the image had on me. It cannot ever be unseen ( ̄∇ ̄")
Is anybody else disappointed that the narrative is taking a different turn from the characters mentioned in the synopsis? I rarely read complex love triangle plots. The angst, the pain, it’s all just too much but this one is not like Lucky Paradise. Lucky paradise was a bittersweet and wonderful rollercoaster of a story BC it stuck to the narrative mentioned in the synopsis (which is what I was expecting). Wet sand just feels horrible. Don’t get me wrong, I think Tj is a very interesting and uniquely complex character but I just feel like he’s occupying more space in this plot than Jo (the main actually mentioned in the synopsis). My disappointment lies within the feeling that I’ve been mislead based on the synopsis (in my mind, if a character isn’t specifically named in the synopsis, they’re not a main character). I’m expecting more Jo/Ian not mostly Ian/TJ. And the sex scenes, while hot asf, it’s too much. I want more plot and far less sex scenes.
There are three main characters
Gang, I literally explained this. Please read AND comprehend before replying next time, thanks.
You rambled about how the synopsis mislead you and stated that if a character isn't mentioned there then they're not a main character "(in my mind, if a character isn’t specifically named in the synopsis, they’re not a main character)". I merely told you there were three main characters. This is a love triangle and the story is about all three.
Okay, thank you for perfectly restating everything I just said…
To clarify my point: TJ not being named (in my mind) makes him something of an important, but “secondary” character and the fact that he’s taking up more chapters than Jo x Ian, is my issue. My only references to love triangle plots are Lucky paradise and Love or Hate, where the other love interests are mentioned (in the summary and usually not named, or are) but don’t occupy as much space in the story as the other “main” pairing.
From the summary, I was expecting mostly Jo and Ian and this mysterious “lover” comes between them; however, it feels like Jo is coming in between TJ and Ian. I am not a fan of it, and feel mislead.
If you don’t agree, that’s absolutely fine! And if you’re up for it, we can chat, maybe you could shed some light on or open my mind to a different outlook, but if you’re commenting just being a smart ass (on something I’d specifically addressed) about my “rambling”, then I see absolutely no point in further engaging with you.
I didn't mean to sound like a smart ass, I apologize. The synopsis is translated poorly, in the KR ver all three are mentioned. The author has stated that all three are main characters whose growth and development is the focus of the story. They have also stated that there aren't any LT rules, meaning it's not a typical LT so to not be influenced by other LT stories.
This is the translation from Do7 "A man who lives for danger, a man who wants out of his dangerous existence, and a man who's jumped into someone else's life. Who will they choose in the end?" as you can see it's not just about who Ian chooses, but also about TJ and Jo and their individual stories, their choices and how that'll affect everyone around them. This is a heavy plot that was influenced by the noir genre and both the gang plot and Jo's story will eventually intertwine.
Wow. If I’d read that synopsis, I would have had a totally different understanding and expectation of the story—thank you for sharing and explaining. You definitely gave me a different perspective to think about.
This makes sense to me because all three are explicitly named (not literally) and it definitely gives equal weight to all three characters. The translated one only calls TJ a “lover” and seems to give his role a lot less significance than he really deserves in the story.
Unfortunately, though, now I have an endgame couple stuck in my head and I’m just being bratty about them not getting more chapters lol
I’m still going to take a break and maybe wait for the story to end before I pick it back up again, with this other synopsis in mind! I just can handle the wait between updates and the angst, goodness me, the angst—it’s too much
That's probably the best thing to do tbh, it'll give you a chance to read from the beginning whenever you're ready. Good luck to you!!
