It came off as authentic, two characters are still respect they had love, they don't hate each other, but it's not right anymore to be together, so they still are hurt. It was a long build up, but the pace wasn't drawn out. I thought it was refreshing how "normal" their reactions were, considering most yaoi is so over the top.
