The father is the one who created this messy situation first: he had a child with a woman that wasn't his wife, kept the child, his wife went mad when she saw his legit son wasn't considered as the bastard one and almost killed Ranzo; then the father kept Ranzo closed in room and abused him while the wife went completely nuts and talked to Norihiko as he was her husband. So no, Norihiko is just an addiction to this already messed up family.
