"his private life is not our concern, that's not our job"
Um... it is very much your concern, since you're a, you know, detective??! And it is absolutely your job; in fact, you're supposed to do a deep dive into that shit and follow every possible lead and clue you dredge up. This might be the stupidest thing a fictional detective has ever said (≧∀≦)

What's extra funny is, we'd all be rooting for someone in Diane's position IRL. Working class girl maneuvering herself into a legit palace? Live your best life, friend, get those stacks. We know all those billionaires and modern royalty are quite literally the absolute worst, all looking down their inbred noses at someone who has done genuine labor in her life when they've never had to do real work for a microsecond, spending their considerable leisure time destroying the planet and hoarding cash while half the world starves. Disgust emoji.
Not to say I don't like the Empress, LOL. She is a true Queen, my Queen CAN cry if she wants ヾ(☆▽☆). Grand Duchess Elizabeth is naturally the best candidate to rule instead of her useless brother and she's so beautiful she almost makes me cry! That one red dress omg. You know the one I mean. It's just funny to find myself cheering for all these fantasy-land royals when IRL I'd like nothing more than to see them all at the bottom of the sea.
Oh, Diane, just stuff your valise with all those costly gems nobody seems to be keeping track of and hightail it out of that nest of titled vipers. Open a little shop on a cute meandering gram-bait village street somewhere, pry those diamonds out of their fancy settings and resell, resell, resell (I'm sure they don't have security inscription numbers in that backasswards universe). Eat fancy desserts with one hand while keeping your rude-ass brother in line with the other. The emperor is trash, the palace is a cage, and you've hustled long enough to deserve a vacation. We'll all root for you then! Pfft.
Good news: the translation is behind the original by about two months, so the hiatus we just heard about today with the English version is already over. Shin has been back at work for a while now! In fact, the original work is at chapter 126 already.
Currently the release schedule is 3 episodes per month, on the 5th, 15th, and 25th, and every six episodes Shin takes a week break to rest the drawing hand. These short breaks are also called 'hiatuses' so it sometimes causes confusion--really, it's one week off out of six to maintain the creator's health and episode quality. Shin needed an additional one of those recently, but have no fear, "Fate Makes No Mistakes" won't be on an extended break this time. The gap between the releases of the original and the translation acts as a bit of a buffer for times like these. If Shin does need more time off, there's some room to catch up on this end.
