When she finds out Beom is not a broke working class kid she is going to feel so betrayed... he is so keen to get close to her he'll even deceive her to do so, and it seems like he doesn't understand how much that will hurt her in the long run--especially because she's just had her heart broken. The new trust built up after such treachery is as fragile as a cobweb. It will be a tragically easy thing to tear it all down.
I'm like, wait, green onions aren't expensive?? But maybe they are in SK? So I look up price of green onions in SK and that was how I found out green onions are this whole political thing over there and the price is definitely an issue. The interesting things you learn along the way, man.
So anyway that green onion moment in chapter one is funny on many levels if you are aware of South Korean politics and grocery prices. (≧∀≦)
