Good news: the translation is behind the original by about two months, so the hiatus we just heard about today with the English version is already over. Shin has been back at work for a while now! In fact, the original work is at chapter 126 already.
Currently the release schedule is 3 episodes per month, on the 5th, 15th, and 25th, and every six episodes Shin takes a week break to rest the drawing hand. These short breaks are also called 'hiatuses' so it sometimes causes confusion--really, it's one week off out of six to maintain the creator's health and episode quality. Shin needed an additional one of those recently, but have no fear, "Fate Makes No Mistakes" won't be on an extended break this time. The gap between the releases of the original and the translation acts as a bit of a buffer for times like these. If Shin does need more time off, there's some room to catch up on this end.
On the surface, it's a high-spirited and fast-paced work of the short-episode-mystery/genius-detective type that's so funny and genre-savvy that it might just be a good-natured send up; look a bit deeper and you'll discover lots of touching, positive moments that will get you thinking about the essence of friendship and the benefits of withholding judgement until you get to know someone. This one surprised me and I'm glad I stumbled across it.
Look deeper still and you'll find lots and lots of body horror
