People who are justifying Sungho almost makes me sick. How is kidnapping someone, starving someone, abusing someone, and violently raping someone anywhere near comparable to what Dohyun did in the PAST? The PAST people! It happened like 10 years ago! He was like 15! He was the typical teenage dick. Not a rapist, not a kidnapper, not a abuser, A DICK.
Sungho(in the flashbacks) always had a choice. He could have said 'NO' and turned the other direction. Instead he was so desperate to have a friend that he consented to the sex. Yes...i said consented, its not rape if he could have easily said 'NO, I DON'T WANT TO GET FUCKED IN THE ASS.' Maybe Sungho thought he didn't have a choice in his mind, and maybe he felt very pressured and threatened? Either way, and the end of the day, he had FREE WILL.
I think the problem is that there're a lot of underage kids on this site so it's easy for them to sympathize with other kids their age (aka Sungho). They do not see things like adults who can be more objective and are able to tell the difference between legal and illegal actions. What Sungho did to Dohyun is criminal and not condonable. Dohyun was just being an insensitive dick as a kid.

Probably more that lots have actually met or been in a relationship with a guy exactly like Dohyun, and very few who have been kidnapped and held captive in a warehouse by a guy exactly like Sungho.
Trust me, when I was 10 years old, I still would see a big problem with abduction, torture, confinement, and rape. Dohyun was insensitive. Sungho is menacing, dangerous, criminal, and maybe demented.
Well, I'm no "kid" who doesn't understand how the world of adults is working. I'm probably one of the oldest here reading some yaoi. For me it's out of the question if Sungho is guilty or not. OF COURSE he is. And it doesn't matter what happend in the past. There is nothing which can justify his actions. NOTHING. That said, thinking the other guy was just a "teenage dick" is terrible to hear. I was never in such a relationship, but I learned at a very young age how cruel other children can be. Some action impact a person for the rest of her/his life. To say he was just a dick like there was nothing wrong with his actions ... wow, it makes me speechless and shows that there is not much empathy in this world.
Yes, he was a dick. He wasn't a criminal. He wasn't a rapist. He didn't beat the guy or kidnap him. He didn't even call him ugly names (ie verbally abuse like some relationships, even teen ones, have). Saying he's a dick is saying he was insensitive.
Tell me, exactly, what was wrong with his actions. I see him as selfish to the bone and unable to "give' in a relationship. Which describes quite a few teens. He wanted sex, not friendship. If there was no sex, he was outta there.
Are you saying Sungho had no free will, no responsibility for his choice to submit? Because the truth is, Sungho WANTED something, and he paid the price (sex) to get what he wanted (be with Dohyun).
I think Dohyun is a shitty human being. But Sungho is worse. Trust me, I'd rather interact with a selfish jerk than with a rapist-torturer.

Sungho had two choices to make and he picked the option to be with Dohyun even though he didn't like the sex. So he valued Dohyun's presence over his dislike of sex. Nobody verbally or physically forced him or steered him to that decision. He did the mental math and picked it himself. As human beings, we make choices and sometimes we pick the one that is not 100% to our liking but that's life. You can't blame anyone for your choices and actions. That's called personal responsibility. That was what happened to Sungho. Dohyun was insensitive but he was not obligated to be friends with Sungho. He didn't do anything to deserve what happened to him.

In the flashbacks Dohyun gave Sungho a choice. Either they fuck or they won't be friends anymore. Sungho chose to fuck because he didn't want to loose his only friend. It was NOT rape. Is Dohyun an asshole? YES, but no one deserves to be kidnapped, abused, and raped everyday.
Exactly my thoughts. Sungho wanted to desperately be with Dohyun, which did not give him much choice in the matter. But it's his set mentality that didn't give him a choice, not Dohyun, as assholish as the whole situation was, at the end of the day, it was Sungho who decided it. Dohyun just knew how dependent Sungho is on him and used it to his advantage.
Sungho chose to go along with Dohyun's conditions. That makes Sungho responsible for his actions. He said yes instead of no. Everyone who is blaming Dohyun is WRONG: there is no justification (so far) for what is done here. But I don't doubt there's some insanity at work.

I really don't know how your example applies to my comment plus i am not dismissing judgement- we all know there is good and bad when it comes to thing although it varies from person to person. There is nothing wrong with one expressing their opinion but there is a way of going about it without being rude or insulting someone. such as: 'i didn't like the manga, i hated the manga' 'the characters are deviant' 'the characters have no morals' 'the plot didn't make sense, it was underdeveloped or linear' 'the art work wasn't to my liking' (I don't agree with all those examples) but they are examples that wasn't rude or insult someones else's hard work, it simply express one's opinion which some might either agree or disagree with.

Don't get why sangwoo is acting like this. He used to be so possessive over bum now he doesn't give a shit about him or how he feels. He even told bum to LEAVE after he killed the bitch with the heart on her face(forgot her name) even tho sangwoo wanted him too ???? sangwoo seemed disgusted after bum murdered her and now its like they never even had a real relationship to begin with. At first i totally SHIPPED bum and sangwoo but the chemistry between them is gone somehow...（￣へ￣）
There was no romantical relationship...EVER...Sangwoo is just messed up and enjoys hurting others. Dunno where everyone else got the"romance" signal between them, when throughout this manhwa all the signs hint danger, brutality and stockholm syndrome. Bum liked Sangwoo at first but dunno if you can call it like when he was just a stalker whwho didn't know anything about himexcept his looksname. Bum is also messed up in his little world due to severe trauma. Liking and loving are totally different things.

I think that Sangwoo is a totally psychopath. They often manipulate the person around them (like everyone thinks that sangwoo is good) and I think that sangwoo used bum because of his affection for sangwoo and made him feel like he liked him or cared so that bum would have hope that they have a chance together as lovers. And so bum would stay with sangwoo even if he does bad thinks with or against bum. I think this could be because he was all alone and sad when his mother died that he wants someone to care about him. eventhoug it is someone he does not even care for
I agree, with the anon above. There is no romance at all in their relationship, if there is, it's at most one-sided. I'm not an expert with Bum's BPD, but from what I understand, Bum does genuinely feel like he loves Sangwoo. Sangwoo's opinions about him matter, and it matters very, very much. He seeks constant validation of some kind from Sangwoo, he loves it when he receives affection from Sangwoo and he cares very much of what Sangwoo thinks of him. I read here somewhere in the comments that if ever Bum does run away from Sangwoo, he would come back. Bum is all about Sangwoo. That's why Sangwoo's words had so much impact to Bum in CH20 and CH26. Sangwoo walking away made Bum feel pathetic and very unwanted by his "favorite person". It's just that now he would prefer death rather than let Sangwoo think he is disgusting. (But I think his attempt to kill himself is also triggered by the flashbacks)
Regarding the killing of Jieun, Sangwoo had been disappointed with Bum. I think Sangwoo resonates with Bum in a way that he knows how being a victim feels like, he was a victim once too and he hates it. In a way he relates to Bum, so he went out of his way to find someone for Bum to kill. (Sangwoo logic lol) I think he did that so that Bum would have a taste of superiority and find comfort from it. For Sangwoo, the ultimate feeling of superiority is having a control over life and death. Jieun was a gift to Bum from Sangwoo. He expected Bum to be thankful, so imagine his dismay when Bum "feels nothing" about it. Sangwoo felt disrespected, disappointed and pissed. I even see a bit of progression in their relationship, in the earlier chapters, he'd beat up Bum for one slight mistake. Now, he resolves to passive-aggressive shit as consequence.
This is just an interpretation of mine. Others might see it differently.
If you interpret Sangwoo' interactions with Bum as romantic chemistry, then yes his behavior has changed a bit. But if you look at their relationship another way it hasn't change a whole lot. I don’t Sangwoo ever truly cared about how Bum felt. Sangwoo doesn’t keep Bum around for companionship, Bum is merely an object to Sangwoo. Sometimes Sangwoo uses Bum as a security blanket or some sort of substitute for his mother, other times he treats Bum as his play thing, but he never actually cares about Bum as a person.
When killing Jieun I think it was just a game for Sangwoo. Instead of him doing the killing that time he wanted Bum to entertain him by doing it. However he didn’t want only want Bum to kill her, he also wanted a certain reaction out of Bum from it (maybe thrill?). It was so unsatisfying to Sangwoo because he put so much effort in to preparing Jieun and Bum felt “nothing at all”, for Sangwoo that was a very boring outcome.
