If events where hard copies of the English translated mangas were to be available along with merchandise and cosplay(quite similar to events in akhibara ) -- will it be successful ?
Or is it better if the translated copies are made online first ? ( Of course made as cheap as possible ? )
Well... According to me... I think instead of just having events (like comic-con) where we can buy mangas it would be much better to have a shop or something that keeps a huge collection of mangas and merchandises (even from new or lesser known series'..so that people don't have to wait for events to buy merchandises and can also widen their reading tastes)... Because... What I've seen is that most of the Indians are fans and readers of mainstream or widely popular mangas... And.. so.. stalls (in events) that sell stuff geared for this kind of audience might be able to profit a lot.
I feel Indians might prefer the hard copy ones over the online ones even if it's cheaper... But I'm not sure if they would buy it without having a preview or anything... Maybe something like keeping the first few chapters free and then selling therest in hard copy might work.
What's your opinion on this matter? ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
Thanks for your opinion !!
Regarding my idea -- are you aware of the events held at akhibara ( Japan ) ? It's something similar to that but where some of the most classic and popular mangas , discontinued mangas are available in hard copies , place where fujoshis and manga fanatics can meet , cosplay events are held much more ! The whole Asian feel -- with the ramen and yogurt stalls and karaoke space with Asian music in the background-- well that's a very rough idea about it but that's basically it .
Yeah... What I was saying was that it's better if you set up a bookstore kind of shop where maybe you've got an eatery or something inside where all those japanese food that we see in mangas are sold (omurice, takoyaki, etc.) And on particular days you can maybe have a cosplayers gathering over there and stuff like that....and maybe advertise (in events) when this is in the final stage or something... So that people know that soon there'll be a place where like minded people can gather and get to know eachother....and I think it'll also be easier to convince them to come if it's advertised at that stage....
What do you think? (●'◡'●)ノ
Ohhhh... it's just that the people around me go bonkers when they even find a person who has a hard copy and don't actually care if it's an online version... Plus the curiosity to taste Japanese food and meet fellow fans while having an East Asian experience will automatically lure them to the shop ...(that's what I feel)
