I loved this!! It was sweet, romantic and heart warming. The seme was amazing, patient and endearing, he listens and is honest. The CONSENT in this from both parties is astounding and absolutely needed more in manga. No rape, no lies, no manipulative bullshit. I would recommend this to anyone as it's romance at it's finest.
Also I did like the prequel as well but I have to say my heart is set on this being better.
Well not completely, I heard there is an ongoing sequel. But the first part is and was amazing. I first read this year's ago reading as the chapters came out, and then large gaps between them. Ah, I just couldn't wait for the next chapters and it feels like forever since I first started. Gosh I loved this, I would recommend this to anyone. The characters, plot, pacing was ON POINT!
If you are like me and read the comments first, then you are probably confused too. It's a tale about twin princes. The oldest meets a Swan that turns into a prince and falls in love, then there is a tragic twist in the end between the Swan prince and twin princes. It's sad, but you are deatched from the characters and their emotions since it's so short and literally under 20 pages.
I was in fact speechless when I finished it cause it was just... So quick!
I loved the first couple, it's the kind of relationship that should be seen more in yaoi and BL but isn't. The second couple was also quite fun to read, and developed nicely but could of had more. The third couple needed more, their relationship felt... Empty. I guess you could say. Like it's there just to support their mixed feelings and insecurities. Like I know it's a bit naive to believe all is lovey dovey, but still. It would have been nice to see them actually in love, cause the story seems cut short.
I liked the third story bc of one of the characters. It showed a good representation of a gay teen IMO. It showed how easy it is for them to get groomed since there isn’t a lot of gay ppl and it’s likely that they will want a relationship once they have figured out themselves. He only got in a relationship bc he finally found someone like him that wanted him. It did helped him accept a part of himself which is why he got so hurt when things broke off. Buttttt i could be just over analyzing stuff lol
The world changes so much. Although the arguments are the same "don't like don't read" or "rape is disgusting" or "it's just a story"
But damn has the numbers changed. I remember five years ago where the majority didn't care for the rape (of course it's not condoned) and only some people spoke up about the horrific-ness of rape. Now it's like it swapped and the people who dislike rape are the majority. Not that this matters, just pointing this out since I noticed and thought it interesting.
Honestly, I don't like rape. Reading a more realistic rape is even worse as it is disgusting to see the real tragedy to it. Not saying romanticised rape isn't. But it's also simply a kink that some people enjoy and some don't. Bringing up constantly in every rape themed manga whether it's realistic, romanticised or slight is kinda getting ridiculous. Because it's like repeating a fact that EVERYBODY already knows (rape = bad/gross). Not saying people can't express their opinions, cause they can. But there is nothing worse then scrolling through comments that repeat the same thing just to trash talk a manga and those that enjoy to read it.
So I'm only on chapter 11. And I just can't with them!! Like why do 7yr olds care about romance?! Like Leila's first thought of Dane "he looks handsome"... What?! They are children. Young children.
And then the the other girl Silvia pops up and Leila is jealous, she's only known Dane for like a day. I just cannot with writers putting adult thoughts into children. With Dane I can get it, he still retains his memories of his past life.
But the other kids. Just makes me shake my head, I can't help but laugh. Lol
