Just gunna throw in my 2 cents about the author since I wasn’t around when it went down. Do authors deserve to be paid for their work? Yes. Are they entitled to get upset when people are pirating? Yes. But is responding with death threats super fucked up? YES. THAT’S UNHINGED
We are WAAAAAAY past the point of no return when it comes to privacy. If you’re a creative type who has put their art out into the world it’s one of those harsh realities that you have to accept because piracy is here to stay. I’m a musician and I would much prefer to have people pirate my music rather than not listen at all due to financial stress. Im not getting paid shit for it even when people do pay for it
The author should be MUCH angrier at the company who employs them, has the money to pay them much more, but refuses to. This manhwa BLEW UP thanks to illegal translations. If you can’t handle your work being pirated in this day and age it might be a bigger sign that you shouldn’t put your art out there. Yes she’s entitled to be upset about this but always expecting readers to be able to afford her work IN THIS ECONOMY with the world literally falling apart is also SUPER classist
Honestly never knew that happen but when ever the physicals or merch come out I try supporting that way. I also share the official links when can. I wouldn’t have heard of this series or a lot of others without the translations. I planned to buy the box set and a few other items once saved up. For some reason the authors never think fans will still support them when they can even if they didn’t read it legally at first. Like I’m going to meet and greet of the artist from Kings Maker and Define The Relationship in August definitely showing support. I can’t stand buying single chapters on websites because at some point I read way too much and that adds up when you have 6 different comic and novel accounts and still got bills.
I could be wrong, but if their website were a international one, easy tô use and everyone could buy the works with their own country's currency, piracy wouldn't have as much space as it does today. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
This is my first time hearing about this, but I truly despise the paying by chapter model because it is so expensive in the end (and really grating if the story is terrible in the end). At least with novels you can check one out at a library first to see if you want to purchase it.

I did see people saying that the author ( Euja, her name is I think ) crashing out on Twitter. I suppose that's what happened. I get that
