Someone did an interview with the creator and they said that your interpretation is valid. People are supposed to have different takes on what this story means according to the author

I think yes and no. I mean it makes sense but I also think she saw her as a mother that she never had, someone to be with. That’s why in one panel she said “I wish I was Shii Chan’s baby”
