Timeline summary (more or less):
1. Teen Ryeong and fugitive crown prince meet at the cave.
2. Candidate to ascendant Ryeong takes care of Paljae in its monster form. Paljae waits for Ryeong to return as an ascendant for centuries, but he returns as a corpse instead.
3. Paljae's soul asks Ryeong to save him aka the "beggining" of the story.
