It's not in the bl genre bc the queerness isn't a main focus lol. The creator has said a few times now that they never intend to add that tag to the story because it's just a horror coming of age story that happens to feature queer characters and that they believe not every story with queer protagonists needs to center around the fact that they are queer. I'm not sure why people are complaining so much either way. Yes, the main characters have romantic feelings for each other. No, the series is not a romance and never will be. These 2 things can coexist.
I don’t really understand how it can’t be considered a romance? It’s definitely not the focus of the story but romance still occurs between two main characters so it’d be a sub genre at most. It’s a horror and a romance, but a horror first. The focus on horror doesn’t take away the romantic elements.
